I have a question about my camaro sitting wrong!

Hey if anyone can help for some reason my 92 camaro sites to much to the right. It sits so low that when i hit a bump driving the wheel well is cutting into the tire. Measuring from the top of the wheel to the top of well on the passanger side is like 2 inches and on the driver side measuring the same is 4 inches. What could be the reason for this happening and if anyone had this problem and fixed it please let me know.

is it the whole pass side sitting down or jsut one end of the car? 2 inches would be about the amount of difference that the spring isolators would make. it is possible that while doing some suspension work one of them fell out or became dislodged and is leaving the car sitting cockeyed.

Could also be a bad shock/sturt or a broken coil spring. How's the ride? Is it making alot of noise?

the ride is ok i dont hear any noise that i haven't heard before the only thing that happens is when you drive and if you hit a bump the side that is to low the tire goes into the wheel well and it is cutting the tire on the wall and the cut is all the way around the tire and i changed the rear and put in new shocks the springs are stock but the car dosen't bounce or anything when you push on it. i don't know.

only in the rear? check the isolator or for a broken coil. if nothing obvious could just be a wore out coil

i had to buy new coil springs for my dads el camino because they are so worn out they seem to have lost their spring rate


or, somthings off kilter on the driver side making it too high which is forcing the other side down a little?. because 4 inches of wheel gap sounds odd to me.

Car probably wouldn't bounce from a bad sparing with new shocks from pushing on it. You would hear it more when you hit a big bump, instead of damping the car will make an abrupt almost slamming noise. I am leaning toward isolator on this one though. Take a look and see if it is on top of the spring on the low side or if it is missing.

lol i have the same problem, i was missing the insulator on the pass side and i put one in and its still lower on the pass side. i have newish shocks and springs. the only thing i could think of is the added weight of the spare tire n jack on that side. i havent noticed it on the 91 yet but ill have to take a look

lol i have the same problem, i was missing the insulator on the pass side and i put one in and its still lower on the pass side. i have newish shocks and springs. the only thing i could think of is the added weight of the spare tire n jack on that side. i havent noticed it on the 91 yet but ill have to take a look

how much lower after replacing the isolator?

And I agree. Shed out the extra penny and get some new springs + shocks...
But that reminds me, when I fixed my old 86 TA from my accident, I never checked the suspension components, and my front driver side would make a tiny "pop" and the tire would hit the wheel well every bump I hit on the right side... The sway bar popped out from the accident on the driver side and was smacking something under there... that fixed my problem.. dunno if theres any relevance to this, i dunno lol. :2cents:

Well i been thinking very hard about this and i want to change the shocks and springs. What would be some suggestions on a good not to expensive set up or what company to go with. Let me know guys. thanks

I've always liked the Bilstein/Eibach (NOT sportlines) for a daily driver and low budget. If you have the cash get a set of coil overs, the front springs are awful to change. If I ever get another third gen I am going to spring for the coil overs before I kill myself. Launced one of those suckers about 20 feet once, thankfully it missed me and everything but the pond.

i bought my 1" lowering springs from a company called suspension techniques, and they weren't expensive at all. Search them on jegs, i think they are something like $150 they are great quality, While you have the springs out get some brand new isolators, it quiets everything down. The isolators on my car, even only having something like 35,000 miles on them, were worn all the way down to the metal and not doing too much

Were could i get new isolators would summit or jegs have them. Also you have the same car as me it looks like those it sit wierd in the rear like mine let me know.
