Hey Friends,
Without getting into a lot of sordid details, I'm really in a bad state of mind. I might be losing my job after the holidays, and I feel lower than whale crap about it. It is really the only "real" job I've ever had, and because of some BS and lies from management I may be gone after 18+ years of service. I'm besides myself with pain and anger, and it is really hard for me to "put on a
brave face" for the holidays. I just want to crawl into bed and not get out.
I'm 41 years old, have no real experience doing anything, have no college behind me, and really doubt I could find anything else near the $ I was making working for Transit. I dunno what else to say, but please pray for me and my wife that we make it through this.
Thanks all, and Happy Holidays.

That sucks, especially this time of the year. Hopefully they will realize what kind of employee you are and keep you around. I start getting paranoid myself now that I've been at my company for 17-1/2 years. Hang in there!

Don't fret over what you can't control. Have a Merry Christmas. 2007 is going to be great.

Edit: It can't be all bad - people seem to like you. Why else woud they make threads about you?

its been my experience that if you have good friends, nothing can keep you down. I know you have a lot of good friends like me, jon, j0n, melissa, rich, paul ( hardcorez28 ) and a bunch of others.

and this is also a perfect spot to add some pennywise lyrics....

Ever get the feeling you can't go on
Just remember whose side it is that you're on
You've got friends with you till the end
If you're ever in a tough situation we'll be there with no hesitation
Brotherhood's our rule that cannot bend
When you're feeling too close to the bottom
You know who it is you can count on
Someone will pick you up again
we can conquer anything together
All of us are bonded forever if you die I die that's the way it is

pennywise - bro hymn.

hang in there bob, we're all here for you.

You're in my prayers man. I too received some bad news and let me tell you how easy it is to crawl into bed and not come out. You're not alone it that.

Keep your head up man, it's out of your hands and whatever is going to happen is going to happen. Like Jake said, God has a plan. You have your wife and quite a few people from this site that would offer you support...it doesn't look like you're alone.

Good luck.

Bob, things may look better after the Holidays, keep your head up! Is your Transit gig a union job? If so, and management is f'ing with you, they should have your back 100%. Always remember the Golden Rule too; what goes around, comes around. If these guys are dicking you over for no good reason, it'll come back to haunt them someday, and much worse. It may not make you feel any better right now, but when you're back on top of the game and those guys get hosed, you can smirk about it and be thankful. :)

FWIW, I feel your pain too, bro. Due to some issues I had with the now ~former~ superintendent, I got screwed out of a lot of $$ this year, and this is only my 9th year teaching.
