come spring time im considering some new wheels for the 88. i would like sumthin 4th gen i think, maybe stock 10 spoke SS's or some ZR1's.
what size spacers/adapters would i need for hte front and rear? would a 17x11 wheel fit on a 3rd gen rear? anythin else i need to be concerned about?
kind of off-topic but i will probably be selling my chrome 17x9 y2k vette wheels soon. Let me know if you're interested. As far as spacers go iirc it's a 2" spacer at all 4 corners

Yea.. i was considering that too for my formula.. i heard the spacers cant be trusted to take any kind of abuse tho.?.? aka drag racing etc..

spacers won't be big enough to put 4th gen wheels onto a thirdgen. there are bolt on adaptors though. you can get them through corvette brakes and a few other places online.
i think it is 2.5inch front and 1.5inch rear bolt on adapators you need to drop 4th gen or C5 wheels onto any third gen.
the 17x11's with 315 tires will fit in rear with the adaptors and 17x9's will fit easily in the front with 275 tires. you will get some rubbing at full lock and maybe a bit in the rear wheel wells when you really put it into a corner hard. nothign to worry about though

I used 2" adapters to put Z06 Wheels on my thirdgen.

I don't like spacers ..... Someone I know used them for awhile and took them off. Said the car felt so much better....

Theres a brand that I have been following, that someone wrote a huge write-up on LS1Tech about. I know Ted uses them and he has no complaints!

just saw this now lol. but yea, I'm using their 2" adapters to run my wheels on the IROC; the wheels are 17x9 and fit a 4th gen with no need for an adapter or anything. I had em on all 4 but since I swapped in a 3.42 10 bolt I only need em up front. The car doesn't feel any different with the adapters. I just put new rotors on the front after having the adapters on for a couple of years and there's no sign of any wear or anything.

Looks like a pretty good deal, I think they would look sweet on my GTA. Personally I wouldn't do 4th gen wheels, I don't want to mess with spacers.

Well, spacers and adapters are completely different.....but if want smething you can just bolt on and go, that's understandable.

I have replica IROC wheels that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago from Performance Wheel Outlet. For the most part I love them, although the chrome on the back of the wheels is beat up pretty bad. The outer part of the wheel still looks brand new though.
As for spacers go with Skulte's. He put a lot of time and effort into developing them a few years back. I used to talk to Andris a lot but we've lost touch but he's definitely a stand up guy.
