I decided to change the plugs and air filter on the Ram today, and what started out to be a $23 project now has turned into a $300 project. Changed the drivers side plugs without a hitch, got to the passengers side and the wires started separating from the clips on the plugs, and one wire disintigrated (oh joy!) so, at 830 at night I now have to find a set of wires for my truck. parents are out, and so is my sister so no vehicles (that run) are at my access. Call up a buddy, and he heads out and we go to the Advanced Auto in Browns Mills whom have a set of wires. $30 later im on my way home. Get home, and my buddy Justin, who works for Dodge is helpin me out, take the air cleaner assembly off and find oil all over the throttle body, he looks down the butterflies, and sure enough my intake gaskets are shot. Checking around, making sure other stuff is in order, i discover that my *slight* coolant leak from the back of the block has worsened. I am hoping its related to the intake gaskets, but I highly doubt thats the case. Good part of this is that my buddy has done many of these gasket repairs, so he said he will take it to work and do it for me soon, so I dont have to worry about it.

/Rant.

The truck runs amazing now though, the plugs were VERY bad :-)

yeah, the intake gaskets on the 5.2's and 5.9's were known for leaking. thats probably what your coolant leak is coming from too.

i remember i had a coolant leak in my caprice in the back of the block, simple replacement of the line that goes from one head to the other fixed it

now i have the intake gaskets on my 3.4 and my friend backed out when he saw how compact the engine compartment was... anyone wanna help? ;)

I sure as hell hope thats where my coolant leak is coming from :-) Yeah, this thing runs amazingly better now, hopefully it will pick up some more when the intake gaskets are better, that way its not sucking all kindsa crap and air in, and throwing off the computer. Not to mention stop eating oil!
