View Full Version : New Oil Dipstick Problems
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=LOK%2DED%2D5008&view=1&N=700+0
I got this a cpl days ago since my stock one is bent up to the point where i had to use zipties to hold it in place rather than using the bolt... I got this thing, its for "LS based engines" 97-04 ... and its about 8 inches short  I went to put it in today and I got denied. I would have to reach down between header pipes and struggle to get the dipstick out. Anybody else have this problem?
Well, I sent "Lokar" an email. I got a response immediately:
Hello. I recently purchased one of your dipsticks through the Summit Racing Catalog "LOK-ED-5008" for my 2001 Camaro Z28 with the LS1 engine. I bought it to replace the stock one that ended up getting bent up during a header installation. I was curious if its normal that the dipstick + tube is about 8 inches shorter than the stock one, which requires me to have to reach down in between header pipes to pull the dipstick out. The product is of excellent quality, but I want to make sure that I got the right product. The dipstick is as straight as I could possibly get it with barely any bends. Thanks in advance!

Hello Noah,
We design our dipsticks so that they mount to a header bolt. This will make it considerably shorter than the stock one. Should you have any questions please feel free to call me at 877-469-7440 ext 8900.
Thanks,
Jeff
