so this morning i was doing a delivery for the store i work for and as all of u kno it snowed. Well, it stopped b4 the delivery so i went. Not realizing the alllll the snow.. turned to ice. well im heading down hadley road in So.Plainfield when i see a huge accident ahead of me. i counted at least 6 cars. So i slammed my brakes and nothing.. car slid the whole block down. i was standing on those brakes praying to stop. I managed to stop the car about a foot from the accident. I was so happy then i looking in the rearview to see 3 cars sliding towards me but i couldnt get traction on the ice to move. So i braced myself for the impact but thankfully they slid around me hitting the other cars. Police showed up moving all the cars into a nearby parking lot and one officer says to me "How can the kid, with the only car that should NOT be on the road in this weather not have a scratch on it?" he then pushed my car from the side to keep it straight as i drove past

so i guess the moral of the story is that all cops arent douches... and that today.. i was a lucky S.O.B

Wow...glad you got outta that with no problems! Similar situation 2 years ago prompted me to get the beater. After enduring many f-body winters, I had enough.

Beaters rule. I'm constantly banging up my Caddy, and I don't care at all. :)

Yeah, this morning was a fun drive into work. I pulled out of the driveway and realized my street was ice where all the tire tracks were. But I made it slowly up the road and onto some busier roads which had more traffic and some salt. I made it to work with minimal spinning of the tires. Good thing my beater has a limited slip!

yea.. id like to get a beater, but i have the camaro and the Trans Am. And since i refuse to get rid of the t/a and have nowhere to keep a third car, a beater is out.

but yea.. i realized today how bad the fbody is in the snow

In your sig it says that the 2004 'Vette is the beater. So, drive that!

I used to love driving my camaro in the snow....somewhat, like Id go out to parking lots and just mess around, doing doughnuts and sliding and stuff, but when it came to the streets, you were lucky to see me do 20 at the most. thats y i got my ranger, its not 4wd but i love whipping that around in the snow, and it nto much of a chick pickeruper either

I haven't missed a day of work in many years so you got the wrong guy. If it snows heavy enough, I'll just hook up the dogsled! http://www.londonderry.org/assets/twps/images/Dogsled%20and%20boy.gif
