theres a giant parking lot right next door, trailer wont be a problem, and in clifton, neither should loud. they've dynoed race cars there before, so i cant see it being an issue.

No, they won't let you do that unless you get two spots. They spend more time strapping you down to the dyno then actually making pulls, so if they unstrapped you, rolled you off, waited for you to change tires, then rolled you back on....it would take awhile.

yes, i talked to matt and they can dyno the diesel. there is an additional $25 fee for the set up because they have to do a few things differently and spend some extra time with it.
now the question is, will you get it tuned before then? lol

the people at TTP will actually be running the car on the dyno. you can stand outside and watch or they will allow you to sit in the passenger seat during the pulls.

actually i was planning on the 02. my 78 isnt up to snuff. original owner put 389 heads on her, blasting compression to around 12:1. even on sunoco 94, 2 cans of octane boost, just barely enough timing to run, she pings like a bitch up top, and is so lame with so little timing, id be suprised if she'll run in the 14s. eventually eldebrock aluminum heads will go on. i also hope it doesnt rain that day.....my girls dont see rain when i can help it.

Yeah, I don't take my Firehawk out in bad weather either. That's why last year I just went to hang out, cuz March can always be a wacky month with weather. It turned out being a nice day that day and I went home with that "I-should-have-dyno'd" feeling one usually gets. So hopefully we'll see decent weather again this year!

EchoMirage
02-11-2007, 10:53 PM
it must be my ****** luck or something, but the 2 times i went to englishtown....it rained. the day i picked her up from getting headers installed.....it rained. the one time i took my 78 autocrossing....it rained some.

NJSPEEDER
02-11-2007, 10:55 PM
i don't get it? it's a little rain, not hail or snow or godzilla or some other natural disaster. the car comes with paint all over it to prevent the metal from rusting, and i doubt a few minutes of even our fine jersey rain will damage that.

Ian
02-12-2007, 12:05 AM

Passaic Park is a section of Clifton close to rt. 21. But when I Google that address it doesn't come up  It's gotta be just up the street from where it was last year.

take broadway heading south. make a right onto van houten, there is a CVS on the corner. go up maybe a block or two, and it will be on the left, set back off the street about 20ft. im not 100% about the 1 or 2 blocks, but it is very close to CVS, within a minutes driving.

ive never actually been there, but driven past it and know where it is. it doesnt look like they have much parking, but i think its on a corner, so there should be at least some spots here and there. i think theres also some kind of shopping center across the street, though i wouldnt trust parking cars like ours there. im sure if there are plenty of people around, parking close by on the street should be safe enough.

Yeah, my grandparents used to live off of Van Houten in that area and I know there's a lot of neighborhoods off those side streets. I wouldn't chance it parking in a shopping center.

NJSPEEDER
02-18-2007, 11:17 AM
last year we were expected to sell out all the spaces too. afterwards a bunch of people were disappointed that they waited and either got locked out or wished they had put their car on the rollers.
i jsut figured after the great time we al had last year, the bargain price that the day is, and the number of people who said they wished they had thrown their piece on the rollers, people would be tripping over themselves to lock in spots instead of saying "we'll see".

Money's a bit tight with me being out of work and not getting disability $$ yet. Not to mention paying for an upcoming wedding. Lastly I have had the bottle on the car for like 3 years now and STILL haven't had it properly tuned so I don't want to risk F-ing up the car.

...for everyone else, there is no parking, it really sucks...

well isnt that just friggin great. what the hell are we supposed to do with 20 people hanging out

If there is a lot nearby where we can park all our cars together like last year, that would be cool. But if parking is REALLY that bad, I'm not gonna want to leave my car parked somewhere where I can't see it.

Yeah I read that, but I eat more then once a day and I'm sure they won't have enough food to feed everyone for a full day. I was merely suggesting a small after event gathering at a local food establishment. Or maybe a local watering hole for those of legal drinking age. LOL

Just a suggestion.

Ahhh old man, your memory fades fast. Since he was in new orleans and my dad brought his car, me/j0n called him to tell him it was making some obscenely low numbers.... brando proceded to almost cry till j0n broke and told him the actual numbers, which were on the low side for a stock auto 3.8 (and it was a little touch away from stock)

MY car was on the dyno when the big misreads happened... i think one pull was 20 hp / 400 lb ft. lol

If I do come and dyno.... it would be the neon

Stock is 132 HP and 130 TQ

I'd added:
Iceman cold air intake
SRT4 exhaust from manifold back (I got it free)
Shortly I will pick up a dodge neon r/t muffler

I figure......I will have the lowest dyno results EVER! I am guessing 112 rwhp?

Hey guys,

Sorry I havent had time to chime in this thread yet. The parking situation has been a question that many of you have asked me. Right now it will be mostly on the street parking. I want to work with the city of Passaic to provide some marked off spaces and I am also working on getting a local parking lot to let us use their facility. There is plenty of on the street parking if neccessary though.

Any questions you can give me a shout or ask Tim we will be communicating a lot in the coming weeks.

We hope to see a lot of you guys like we did last year at this meet!

Thanks,
Matt & the rest of the TTP team

If i could find someone to follow me up in the 1988 mercury topaz, i would have the lowest number. I read somewhere that stock was like 86-89 hp, 129 tq. Since then, I've cut my muffler off and made a "short ram" intake for it. it doesnt do much, but the intake sound is awesome! I used to have this lil electric blower thing that seemed to work pretty good, like i could feel the difference. then the electric motor for the blower died. either do mapquest, or do this, which is where i got it from anyway....pike north to ext. 16W. make SURE you take the RIGHT fork in the pike when it splits....16E will be off the left, and 16W will be on the right. it will also say 'rt 3, meadowlands expo' etc. take ext. 16W. go through toll, bear to right and get on rt. 3 WEST. youll see giants stad. right in front of you. take rt.3 down to the passaic ave. ext. follow that through a park, and make a left on van houten ave. TTP is a few blocks down on the left, set off the street about 20ft. look for the f-bodies.
