So I sat down and looked at my options, after every one told me not to get rid of the project, and other people telling me how every one becomes discouraged with a project I decided not to give up.
For the thing that I was going to do for just the finished motor, with a trans that would run any where from 12.4-11.8 when set up right It would be-$2735 including initial engine purchase. WITH OUT HEADERS no different rear or anything.
For the motor stock heads runing car with different set of wheels Starting at-$ 2250 With used longtubes, used 4th gen rear. probably would be cruised around
That is a $485 difference, I know some of you have been into cars since before I was born so Im asking your opinion of what I should do.
If your not going to talk about theese two options plz dont add to this thread. and yes i know id need tires, suspension and a rear

with no real information to work with all i can say is that you have a pile of parts at your house already. PUT THEM TOGETHER and go from there.
stop looking for new answers and changing your mind constantly and just get it together. once you see what it runs, then you can make the appropriate decisions about upgrades to reach your goals.

Wayfast, here's my 2 cents, put together what you have, get in to run with what you have now, fine tune it with what you have without spending more cash at this point. Just do the basics to get it complete. Then once you get your DL you'll have a driver. Once you put miles on it you be able to tell what mods will give u the best bang for the buck.

Yeah, I would get it running and something you can drive. You don't need a 12 second car at this point in time. Use this car as a learning point and it will help you figure out what works and what doesn't work. Get it up and running with what you have and then work out some future plans after that.

also.... it'll be so much fun to drive your car mod to mod... seeing the difference... and being able to look back at it stock (or as close as possible) vs. the car as what you've made it... don't buy anything else besides tuff you ned to put together what's in your garage.

You'll want to save money for college / tech school and live long enough to get there. You don't need a race car at 17 yrs old, just a nice looking daily driver.
Use what you have.

New guy punching in on this one. Dude, been there and done that. I got my first Camaro my senior year of high school with the crappy 2.8. I bought the car with dreams of building a small block for it, but the reality was I was a full-time student with a part-time job and on $150 a week. After the normal teenage essentials (New music, taking the g/f out, etc.) there really wasn't much left that could buy any real horse power. It sounds like you are already miles ahead of where I was when I was your age (Did I really just say 'when I was your age?!' ), so put together what you have and enjoy it while you can. As someone already said, the fun is watching your car grow is part of the fun.
Oh, and I only recently got my T/A after being out of college and getting married and having a kid 10 years later.

speeder is right and he and others have tryed to help you -- stop -- forget all of what you are thinking and start putting the parts together ask question if needed about actually how to do it and --stop -- thinking about stuff you cant do -- both money and experience wise -- assemble the stuff you have -- what you don't know and i am going to tell you is the site has a 1000 members of this thousand people maybe 50 have ever driven a car that has been in the 11s and faster at the track in real competition -- it will scare the sh$! out of you -- look at it in real can do terms -- what can you do today and do it --- stop adding and sending stuff back and all the other stuff you do -- put the car together --- again-- put the car together -- spend one hour thats all and write in a book what it is you did in that hour -- it will be a guide to getting it done --- one hour every day do something even if only its cleaning bolts to re install do something every day -- jz

what everyone else said... I had a 3.4L when I was in high school and I just made it look nice. Most importantly, as stated before, 99% of females will just look at a car and make their entire judgment on it within a second. If it's "pretty" and if it's "loud". You'll look cool enough... .so in the long run who cares if you run a 13.0 or a 12.0? You'll spend a thousand dollars+ for that difference. You can put that money towards better things like getting action out of a gold digger who is way out of your league.
EDIT: BTW it's "hear" not "here"

I think you should keep it and just take your time with it. Gather parts and info and work a little at a time. There is no need to rush. Get as much info as you can and plan what you want to do and where you want to go with the car.
**** happens like people backing up into to them that cant drive...
