Hello. Welcome aboard.

I don't mean to offend you, but I just want to be myself for once and speak what's in my mind. So, I'm going to say I'm sorry before I ask my question.

Why did you decide to go with your username? All it does is attract unwanted attention from guys and probably infuriate the other females in this site.

Other than that, I look forward to seeing your posts and hopefully meet you in one of our gatherings. Enjoy the site and happy posting.

GirlyGirl2007
03-03-2007, 10:07 AM
GirlyGirl2007 is my screen name I was looking for a site to learn and talk about Camaros my Dad had one when he was young and loved it he took me on rides when I was little. He passed away about three years ago. Just thought it would be fun to know more about the cars it seems you are all narrow minded jerks don't worry about your site I will find a different site. Again thank-you for the warm welcome.

jimmyboy8301
03-03-2007, 10:13 AM
that right there is what your first post should have been, with a little backround and information about yourself and your reasoning for joining. you have to realize that we've had several girls come here for the sole purpose of stirring up **** and trying to get much un-needed attention from guys. So with that we are a little apprehensive when a new girl joins and is very vague in their first few posts much like yourself. However now since you finally opened up and explained your intentions 10 posts later feel free to lurk around and learn what you can. I'm sure you will get a little bit more of a warmer welcome. AND FYI you need thick skin around here.

well, no... its not a guy thing.. i currently own 4 camaros.. its more of an addiction i think.. the cars are extremely fun to drive, and probably as much fun to look at.. they sound good, the perform well, and they look amazing.. plus, theres such a huge aftermarket for them that there is always something that can be done to the cars.

i think when you said that you loved to just go for cruises with your dad you may have answered your own question :)

I don't think its neccisarily a "guy thing". It's an object you desire that brings you happiness. Those memories that the car brang also probably reminds your Dad of the good old days that he once enjoyed in his 72.

My wife drives the 94 in my sig, and she gets the same smile on her face that I do when she drives it

mechanical reasons aside, there's just a feeling you get driving an f-body that doesn't really get duplicated. Many other cars have this kind of spirit in them, but most cars don't. You know what I mean yourself, proved it when you said

Welcome to the club! All of us here have one particular thing in common and that's a passion for F-bodies, i.e. Camaros and Firebirds from 1967-2002. Some of us prefer certain years or generations (there was 4 for both), and we all have different reasons for what drew us to the cars. I somehow as a kid just developed a thing for Trans Ams and always knew I wanted one. And like your dad, my favorite thing about my car is just cruising on a warm day with the T-Tops off. It truly is a thing of beauty to be young and have the car of your dreams. Coming to this site and learning about the cars may be the first step for you.

Cars are classified by thier size into different catagories dependent on the wheelbase(distance from the center of the front wheel to the center of the rear wheel) Camaros and Firebirds are "F" Bodies, Vettes are "X" Bodies etc. The thing your Dad probably loved was the enjoyment of cruising in a car that not everyone has and not being bothered by the complexity of todays cars(sensors, airbags, emission controls)

Savage_Messiah

Kasey, Fisher has nothing to do with F in Fbody

Anyway, welcome back to the club!

What draws men and women to Camaros, or cars in general? Well, it could be anything. Some people touched on it, but there is no discriptive word or words that can explain it. Its like being in love. Its a feeling, an emotion, something inside you that just wants to be in one, whatever it is. Some people find that feeling of handbuilt craftsmanship in classic cars from the 20's and 30's, some people like the post war 40's and 50's cars, and a big part, especialy now that the Baby Boomers rule the world, love the cars that they grew up with, the 60's and 70's era Muscle Cars. Now, a lot of us are not old enough to have lived through it, but just this general love for the cars that we own lives down deep inside us. Sometimes its passed down, sometimes it skips a generation. Some people just dont care about cars, but there love is for something else. Our love is for these Fbodies. While sometimes it tests our nerves, we always have this love for them. We love every ounce of it, from looking at them, to driving them, racing them, working on them, and talking about them, we just love these cars.
While it is associated with guys, girls do love cars too. Memories of you in your fathers car might have spawned some internal thing for them as it did in many of us, it might not just click with you. Im sure you have something you like doing. Everyone has a thing that we enjoy doing, our things are cars and fbodies.
Now, you dont HAVE to like cars cause your father did, so dont be worried or confused why you dont have this same feeling.

That's a nice car there. I can see why you're father enjoyed his. I'm sure you wouldn't mind having one of those very same models as well, right?

It's really all about what you like; be it in the way it looks, the way it sounds, the way it runs, the way it handles, etc. It's like being a kid and getting a new bike with all the bells and whistles on it that all the kids in the neighborhood are jealous of, except on a larger scale, haha. I guess I could put it that way. Cars like that are a nice hobby and they're fun to drive. There's just something about car with some power to it that makes you feel good when you take it out for a spin in 75 degree weather on a clear day. It's all about how a nice cruise will make you feel, or the excitement of running it at the track. But they best way for you to find out is to drive one yourself.

I don't even have an F-body, I have a Fiero GT, hahaha. I appreciate both, however, and even right now I drive a mitsubishi til my Fiero is fixed. It gets me from a to b.

Sorry that anyone was a jerk to you, they mean well, they just get carried away sometimes. If you'd like to learn more or see some more of these cars you should make it down to a meet one day. We have a big gathering every month, and larger events in the summer. Any questions, you can ask any of the Admins (the names in orange) tru2chevy (justin), and njspeeder (tim) or the moderators (names in green) Ian or Bonzo (scott) or myself. BigAl also knows quite a bit and so does 1979camarodiva, as well as some other members. We don't bite. haha.

Again, welcome to the site, stick around.

I was just about to say "welcome to the site" too. If you have any questions about camaros, firebirds or just cars in general, feel free to ask on of the higher ups like me. we're not allowed to be mean

yeah well some members aren't exactly what you would call nice.

read this exerpt again please

that right there is what your first post should have been, with a little backround and information about yourself and your reasoning for joining. you have to realize that we've had several girls come here for the sole purpose of stirring up **** and trying to get much un-needed attention from guys.
