you can get a doctors note for it. But if you're caught driving any other vehicle you can get even higher of a fine and your right to have the tint revoked... so it may be more costly than its worth.

i've been looking for a form on the state department of health's site but can't find anything but i did find "Application for Certification to Handle Oysters, Clams or Mussels"
i may just do it and risk it...everything except the windshield. i might get a banner across the top.
the car is already registered as a collector vehicle so i don't have to worry about inspection. i'm just worried that the 20% would draw too much attention from the 5-0. i think anything less is too light.

Personally, I wouldn't get the banner across the top, either tint the windshield 35% or nothing. The way I see it, a cop is driving towards you, he doesn't see the banner, just figures whatever. He passes you, sees the tint, but if you're in traffic each way he might figure, eh screw it. JMO... I have 15% all around nothing on windshield, good luck.

Thank you, if you want the # of that place I can get it for you, he does killer work. I think there are a slew of threads in the appearance section about tint (on tech that is)

if you're gonna do 15, just do 5. It makes a big visual difference during the day, and at nighttime you still can't see anything =D

^^^ Agreed 101%. I wish I had gone with 5% now, but oh well I still like my 15%. Anything except backing up on a pitch black road is cake IMO. I need glasses at nighttime and I still don't have any problems.
i had double layers of 5 on the t/a, got sick of it and peeled it off and now its just clear....
the tbss has stock all around and i added 20% to the 2 front doors to match the rest and it is actually very close, only a little lighter

dont tint the windshield at all. looks dumb if you do half, reduces forward visibility if you do the whole thing...and thats just asking for tickets. plus its not safe

You can legally do the rear window of the Z as dark as you want, however the front sides are illegal unless you have a note from an eye doctor stating that your eyes are overly sensitive to light.

My Monte has fairly light tint all around (I think it's 20%) even on the doors. It was tinted when I got my Collector Registration, and the guy didn't say anything about it. Since it's a collector vehicle, it's technically smog AND safety exempt. If it's exempt from the safety check, then the police shouldn't be able to ticket you for it.

my understanding is that there is no exception to the rule in NJ. Anything behind the driver can be tinted as dark as you like, but from the driver forward cannot be tinted anything further then the glass that comes from the factory.
