distributer wiring ?

has anybody ever wired up a old stlye big cap HEI in place of the tbi distributer with the seperate coil ?? carb swap is coming soon....this is the last thing i need to figure out before i put it all together.

my truck has a big cap...you need to change the whole distributor

my car just has the big HEI dis, internal coil and its carbed. just has a power wire, the tach lead from the car and the vacuum advance from the carb. everything else is self contained.

I did it on my camaro (and you helped, remember?). We were making jokes about the electrician using duct tape to splice wires.....

Not sure if the colors match from the 3rd gens to the trucks, so I dunno if I could help or not.

ive done it not hard but a pain becuz gm doest like to give much wire to play with
