Just a thread, hear what people have to say. What are your feelings about NJFBOA? What brings you here and what do you like about it? How do you define "club"?

this place is my home, and just like anywhere else, you cant please everyone. people bitch and moan about the rules set forth, but theyre really not that difficult to follow. they are meant to make this a new member friendly site, where people feel welcome to join and not intimidated, we are a very close knit group and that can be hard to crack as a newbie. throw immaturity, bashing, name calling and whatever else that has gone on in the mix and thats not very inviting to new members. the goal is to let the club grow so we can get some big name sponsors to pay for our events instead of the admins, who, btw, are not gods and are not infallible, so people should stop calling them out on every little mistake thats made.

other than the little bit of whining that goes on here, which, from dealing with racers constantly i tend to see the side of the administration rather than the complainers, this place is great and i hope it continues to grow as it has in the past few years. i've met a lot of great people through here, and always have a lot of fun at our events.

I define a club as a long, tear-dropped shape wooden object designed to be used as a wepon to harm or kill animals or people.

I feel that I'm a part of this club, because I can contribute to, and learn from all the Tech Posts. Even though I have a G-body, it's a 3rd-gen F-body under the skin so I feel like I belong here. And, most of the people that I've met at the events have been really cool. I don't let interweb drama bother me; I'm a high-school teacher and deal with drama all friggin' day long!

I came here without owning an F-body, but had owned three prior. With the wife, kids, mortgage, career, blah, blah, blah, I felt the need to get back into a Firebird, preferably a Trans Am since I had never owned one. After joining www.njfbody.com (http://www.njfbody.com), then coming to NJFBOA after the other one imploded, I wanted to learn as much as I can, indulge the Trans Am enthusiast in me, and maybe figure out a way to get my hands dirty beyond touching a dirty door handle. I accomplished all of that through NJFBOA.

I remain within the club because I am always learning, I enjoy the casual get-togethers we have to talk about all kinds of subjects, not just f-bodies, and I can see a bright future for the club beyond a large "clique" of friends. The enthusiasm for the cars we all like is still very strong within the club.

Someday I'll have a road-worthy TA so I can show up to the meets in the car that started my interest, and drove me towards finding an organized group of enthusiasts and mechanics who enjoy the same car I do.

Well done. Keep it up.

I cam here to learn more about my favorite cars and spread the knowledge that I have about them. I've been an enthusiast for years and when I came over to NJFBOA.org from njfbody.com I really waned to get involved more and more, just so happens that each winter my fbody breaks :( hah but i'll get'er back on the road and out to a meet one of the next few meets haha. i feel like a family when i'm involved with a site like this that everyone shares the same interest, yeah good and bad things to it but its the same no matter where you go

personally I think you being an ass made me not come on this board as much as i do other boards (if you cant handle me saying that then you probably shouldnt have posted this.). other than that The NJFBOA people as a whole are pretty awesome to hang out with.. deff a good collection of car enthusiasts. And i define club as
Club - [kluhb] - –noun 1. a heavy stick, usually thicker at one end than at the other, suitable for use as a weapon; a cudgel.

i define the club by looking at all the car enthusiasts we have here and all the fun we have together. yes, there is some drama(a group this size will never all be happy at the same time about the same things) and i have been rewarded with many a headache over the last few years for my efforts, but it always seems to result in some good clean fun with a lot of good friends.
i am confident i can speak for justin too when i say that you all make the time, effort, and money we have put into this club worth it. i know i wouldn't give up any of the ups or downs that have brought us this far and will lead us to bigger and better things in the future.

I first got into a message board through my space, then i joined tgo and saw big al's post or signature. I came here, wouldnt have stayed if I didnt love my car like i really do, but Its some people who have kept me around, and some people that make me look smart. But all in all, i dont think the rules are hard to follow, this site is alot better then most's, most people are great, and their arent threads like "MODERATORS GETTING A LITTLE LOCK HAPPY?" in the appearence section.

You can hang out on message boards all over the interweb but if you never get a chance to meet the people in person then you're missing out. Having a local F-body club is perfect. I try to meet up with other people from the larger clubs as well but it's a lot tougher. And since I seem to get a different Camaro every 6 months I need to hang out here.

I'm not gonna lie and I think I speak for many people but the North Jersey crew is very tight nit. I know many think we have a clique but we have been hanging out for long before NJFBOA. We are more then just people from a forum. I've made some really good friends from this car club some that I'll probably know for the rest of my life and many have made a great impact on my life.We just happen to be the same age group/generation and we are well organized. We have all sorts of things going on during the weekends.

Ive been around for a little bit. I've owned alot of Fbodies, but I dont tend to really "click" with many members here. I guess its because im not very active. Of the members here i've met in person, all were very nice people, and i wouldnt mind hanging out with them again. just sometimes theres a small group in here i can't stand, who ruin it for the guys just trying to learn, and add their unnecessary 2 cents to everything

Id have to say I was lookign for a crowd to hang ot with. Originally I was signed up on CamaroV6.com, but due to everyones rudeness, and uncanny ability to pick apart anything you had to say, or question, as well as being a national based F-body club, I was looking for something local, and after some research, i found NJFBOA, and Ill tell you what, Ive had quite a blast. You actually can meet the peopel you see online, almost everyones curtious and dont cut you down for somethign youve said or opinionated......most of the time lol. But it's always been a real blast, and I cant thank the moderators, hte originators, coordinators, and club members, or as i like to call you all, my friends for allowing this club to blossom into something more then almost anyone could imagine.

I hang around here because I get to ban people

seriously though, I've been part of the jersey camaro boards for a long time. chaos, fbody and now this. and if I can blame anyone for all of this...I blame curt. thats right curt, this is all your fault. I didnt even know what a camaro was until you told me all about IROC's in 7th grade.

I think of this club as a good way to bring people across the state (and beyond) together mainly to talk about cars, go racing, get tips for modifications and hang out to shoot the *****.

I'm new here, and I joined as a result of asking on LS1tech how I could get more involved in my local f-body community! I'm 20 years old I've had 4 cars come and go; and they were all f-body! I just don't WANT anything else; all my buddies had f-cars at once but sold out to turbo AWDs. Not that theres anything wrong with that, well maybe haha, but I'm loyal and just totally caught on both the camaro and firebird. So I was looking for a crowd of people that love the same thing I do and where I could learn a thing or two; probably a good place to look huh? haha. Not only that, being that it's a local club if I ever get out of school and come home to NJ I'll get to meet some of you guys (and gals too). 8-)

I hear ya, I too got bit by the F-Body bug when I was still in school. the first car I ever bought was a 79 camaro...I miss that thing. My dad had a 73 Camaro when he was in school, and now I have a 96, and Ive never looked back. I will eventually get a 3rd gen, and make that my dream car, Ive wanted nothign more then a Viper yellow 3rd gen witha 5 speed, and a v8.

Love my car, found some mediocre boards for f-bodies because of that, then found this. Been here ever since, I guess I try to stay slightly active  the fact that I've made tons of acquaintances and good friends from here doesn't hurt either, and that any of our gatherings (whether it be an official meet or just hanging out with people who also happen to be members) are a guaranteed great time. And leaving them can be just as fun too.... some people know what I'm talking about :-D

and i meant no disrespect to you northeners. i know you guys were hanging together before this site even came to. you definately are a tighter group then the south or central. but alot of your gatherings are so far away from some people it's hard to meet alot of people. central needs to unite!!!!

We should keep stats from the meets. I don't see any area dominating in people rolling in. There were a lot of south and central people at dyno day. And there were quite a few north people at the south meet. I think we're pretty well balanced at our meets. We definitely need more 1st gen cars to show up though.
