took it to the track a cpl weeks ago wanted to try to get some better times..... came out the hole on motor sprayed at the 60ft about 3 secs after i sprayed car went to tapping... had to let out of it and went 7.1 in the 1/8th mile...... took it home tore it apart and could wiggle the piston, gotta tear it all apart and replace the block... when i pulled the spark plugs one of them was missing the tip so i basically ran a 7.1 1.8th on 7 cylinders and think i wouldve had a bad ass 1/4 mile time if the car held together...... New 6.0 block goin in should make it a little more stout or do u guys think the stock ls1 block would be better... i just hear how much stronger the 6.0 blocks are.... any input is helpful, thanks in advance

Sucks to hear....

Are you planning on an LS2 block, or the iron truck block?

all of the blocks are pretty durable with proper care in parts selection and assembly. since there isn't much of a difference in price, i say go with the displacement.

i think you will find with most LS1's over 20-30k your going to find one or two plugs with no platinum tip. I know they tend to fall off. I have heard NOS is a contributer to this as well. Your car was running on 8 cylinders, if anything you were getting more of a spark out of that plug as platinum is not a good conductor of electrical current. platinum tips are only on there because (if they dont fall off) platinum is very durable. The bigger the gap, more fuel is burned but the worse the idle, i have even cut the side electrodes off all my plugs in the gas race car on one occasion at the advise of a buddy and it ran the same.

save up for a ls2 block. they are much more accepting to nitrous than a ls1 block and are lighter then a truck block. get a 402 ls2 with forged internals and spray away :) theres some people spraying 300 shots to their 402 ls2s with no probs

i cant find a cheap ls2 block, everyone wants too much money.... i might sell the parts off this car put a stock ls1 back in it and sell it, find somethin else to play with
