has to be a lt1 car i didnt think they made "airfoils" for any other cars but you never know we could both be wrong

He needs to put that in his sig so we know, or at least mention it so we don't have to do research just to see what car he is talking about.

fyi guys, they made airfoils for tpi cars also...

and id go with the headers cause if you go with the tune, and you get headers later, youll proly need to get it tuned again

LT1 mods to do IMO in this order

CAGS delete
CAI
160 thermostat
Cat back exhaust
Subframe connectors
LT4 knock module
Headers
Y-pipe
Plugs, wires, coil
Throttle body
Cam
Heads
1.6 rockers
Port the intake
Dyno tune

id check with the tuner before doing the lt4 knock module...some prefer you to keep the lt1 module and just de-sensitize it

How much money do you have to spent and what are you looking for the car to do? Cruiser, weekend racer? How many miles are on it?

If you plan on running a LT4 or more agressive cam, or even plan on doing LT headers, your tuner will suggest an LT4 knock module.

Well, Speed Inc's tuner, Brain from PCM's for less, and Ed Wright all seem to think so. :-?

Well, you didn't mention your budget, but probably the best bang for the buck upgrade is exhaust or gears.

Check what gears you have, I'll assume 2:73 or 3:23. If so , you can pick up a used rear with 3:42 gears for cheap $300-$500 that will help your excelleration and pick up about .3 without impacting gas milage or driving manners. Allot of people say to go with 3:73s or 4:10 but if you don't have all the supporting mods and you really want to stay a daily driver 3:42 are a good in-between gear set. And you'll need reprogramming as well.

Headers will give you a good gain as well, but will cost allot more.

We just did a LT4 springs and 1.6 rocker arms install (no cam) and there was a slight gain as well. I think the new springs were more of a help in the upper RPMs then the rockets may have been?

i guess im gonna get headers next my brother had gears i think 3.73 and they destoryed his gas mileage he said so im gonna w8 til gas goes down...if it does

Are you an auto? Or a 6-speed? If you are an auto, I would stick with the stock gears, and just go for a torque converter and a shift kit. If you are a 6-speed, I would put in gears. Even with 4.10's in a 6-speed, 6th gear at highway speeds won't be much in the RPM band. It might even improve mileage.

The basics to help mileage and increase power though will be the exhaust, and a CAI, along with a tune.

im a auto i think it already has a shift kit because it shifts hard but im not sure.

Shift kit will help, but the torque converter will make the biggest difference.

Camvill

how much of a difference? is it really worth it.. or should i get longtubes first

CALL911

Depending on how big of a stall you get, it can make a substantial difference. It also might make DD a pain if you go with a big stall, but you will be a monster off the line at the track or in a race.

thanks for the input i would probaly have to look at getting bigger rear tires for that because its hard to keep these from peeling out. i have 245's im looking to get some 275's
