See thread "Jankees Win" What's it gonna take for yankee fans to embrace A-Rod? I know we're only 7 games in here, but if you're not pleased thus far, the guy can't win. Players have morale too, cheer for the guy and maybe you'll get the stupid ring you want so badly and maybe he'll shatter every record....as a Yankee. Actually, there might not be a ring, the pitching is god awful so far. Why invest in someone like Pettite? Pettite has had a pretty good career, but the Yanks got rid of him because they thought the elbow was gonna go, so why bring him back after it actually did? Maybe invest in a young lefty like Kazmir?

I would sell gAyRod as soon as I could option to do so, and buy the best pitching tallent in the MLB. Yanks are pretty stacked as far as hitting. There are very few holes in the line up...especialy after you take out Arod.
You know what made the Yanks great back in the day, and why they cant seem to do s*** now? Pitching. Yanks pitching was the best, and they had a decent hitting staff. Now, great hitting line up and a solid defense, but pitching...sad. Games are won and lost with pitching. Stop with the long ball hitters, and get some guys with an arm.
Arod is up now...lets see.

Outside of that GS he hit the other night, the rest of his HR's are usualy add ons to an already comanding lead.

You are right, the yanks run for all those WS in the 90s was from the pitching, I think Darth Steinbrenner thinks all these 'washed' up vets are the key, but he needs to look to the future. Games can be won and lost on pitching, but pitching is not the only thing, look at the Astros the last few years prior, when Pettite was healthy, Clemens, and Oswalt; Backe was alright for a year too. They had a nasty pitching staff but couldn't score, losing alot of 1-0 runs. Baseball is pitching, hitting, and defense you can't go without one.

i love NYC sports fans. they are winning games, a-rod is contributing more than last year. live with it.
who are you gonna put in his place anyway? they don't have anyone of equal talent, even accounting for how rare the occasion is that he shows it all, to replace him. and it isn't like salary is an issue, george will pay to put the best mediocre player available into the weakest hoels of the line up, and right now a-rod is the man for that job.

mtw, i do agree that the yankees need to get back to YOUNG pitching talent. for some reasn they are hung up on looking for arms in the social security leagues, doesn't make any sense

Did you see Jeter right there? Thats what makes him the man. I would doubt that tubby b*tch at 3rd could do that.

I'm not watching the game, did jeter make another error already? hahaha
I heard gAyrod just put the yanks on top?
Like I said, it's only a few games in, and clearly I was right, A-Rod has no hope if you don't applaud his start thus far. One AB doesn't make a players career, like poor Buckner. The guy had a good career, and is remembered for one single error, not even in game 7!! If I'm starting a team tomorrow, my SS is 'gAyRod' not Derek Jesus. The all-star game history shows that 10AS vs. 7AS in favor of his gAyness. I've always held a funny stereotype that there are baseball fans....then there are yankee fans. if you really can't appreciate Alex Rodriguez as a baseball player, you are no baseball fan.
My team, Houston, is AWFUL. I should just convert to the Mets, but that would just make me a front runner wouldn't it? lol I don't even get to watch my team play on TV lol. Yanks shoulda grabbed Oswalt, woulda been a good pickup for them.
