I'm checking on facts about systems, what I'm looking for is 50-75 shot wet system. (no need to change plugs, fuel pump, tune). I hears Zex is easy, but have a ton of issues with the electronics going bad. (Boom)

so what system and is there anyone in NJ that knows there s*** when it comes to installs?

I don't want to go nuts on a set-up, just a safe system to run @ the track every now and then.

I don't know a damn thing about nitrous, but Josh at JS Performance specializes in nitrous installs and I know he'd be able to help you out.

ive heard ZEX is easy to install but its crap as a product. the little purple "control box" is nothing more than a solenoid in a pretty box. also it doesnt have a system in it for checking fuel pressure before it is able to be sprayed so its not "the safest kit" as they say. theres a whole writeup about it on a mustang site, i can find it if youd like.

Since its début a few years ago, many people have disasembled the lavender "control unit" to the Zex dry system and find nothing more than a single nitrous solenoid attached to a nitrous distribution block. As the nitrous block is put under pressure, a non-adjustable bleed hole feeds nitrous to your fuel pressure regulator. By using the same basic principals of the NOS-05115 kit Zex has simply placed a much more primitive system in a dressier self contained package. Aside from the inability to tune the fuel pressure with this kit, there are two more major draw backs with this system. Since the Zex system lacks a nitrous regulator like NOS kit uses, the initial fuel pressure spike is very high and can damage your stock fuel system. Initial pressure spikes as high as 125 PSI have been measured with this kit. The worst feature of this kit, and perhaps the most ironic as Zex claims to be "The Worlds Safest Nitrous System" is the lack of a pressure safety switch. Without this switch in place, as soon as the nitrous pressure is sent to your fuel pressure regulator it is simultaneously released through the nozzle into your intake. There is no delay for the fuel pressure to rise, or confirmation that the fuel pressure has risen to safe levels. The nitrous oxide is just injected into your intake tract on blind faith.

From researching, Zex is a Time Bomb just waiting to happen.. The box seems to go bad on every story I've read. Zex will replace it.. Oh joy, but the couple of thousands of dollars of damage is on your dime.

There are many options when it comes to nitrous kits. Plate systems hit harder than nozzle style kits. The nozzle kits tend to be a little cheaper though. It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Zex is simple and is usually a nozzle style kit but there are some components that rely on electronics and that may not be the way you want to go.

There are many "experts" and many different styles of tuning when it comes to nitrous. When you choose someone to guide you stick with their combo because one person will do things one way and another will do it a totally different way. Both could be right but you cannot mix them together.

yeah, I was gonna say, i researched the ***** out of zex before i snatched up a deal off of ebay (zex wet kit and extras)
