so i was driving down the pike when this car decides it want to turn in the no turning spot and lays on its brakes and the car behind it did the same and then i did and slid (it was raining hard) into the back of this little Nissan. this 71 year old dude gets out after we pull into the lone star and says well just exchange info and ill mail you the bill okay? and i was like what? im not just gonna pay for a whole new paint job. i know i hit him in the back so its my fault but i slid and i was well over 2 car lengths behind him and it was the littlest scratch ever i asked him to point to what i did he looked for about 5 mins then went to the car and got a flashlight and held it 2 inches away and said there and points to a little scratch and i said my cars not high enough in the front to do that. but any way in the end i gave him my number and stuff.
so the main reason for this post i need to know the paint code for patriot red and where i can get about a quart to half gallon of it for a decent price. there's only a little scuff on my car that wouldn't buff out.

yeah man, if their is a car real bad, and you know you didnt do the damage, you should have a police report.

yeah... this girl hit me... HIT ME... and we didnt get a police report because i already had damage where she hit me so i wasnt really worried about it. but then she calls my insurance company telling them it was my fault blah blah blah and they paid out like 700$ for a rub mark that would have buffed out... probly would of been able to rub out with my finger

If you have his information, try to get some ype of a report in before it's too late. Probably is too late already, though.

In that case do it right now. Get that report locked in before the guy tries pulling something on you
just make sure you have them write up a "non-reportable" report so it doesn't go to the insurance companies unless one of you decides it needs to
damn non-reportables, i have 2 that shouldnt have been reported and my local pd did accidentaly, lucking they didnt show up for my insurance company. but they do on my drievrs abstract. i have paperwork to remove them though, just havent gone. One accident report has a mistake that even says "2 killed"

 wow, that's pretty serious.
on topic.. always get a report... anytime i've been involved in anything including another car i got a report even if it didn't go through insurance

i was in a 26 ft box truck. it started snowing. a lady did the same thing. a audi in front of me hit her. i hit the audi. smashed his car to the rear axle. a guy then ran under the back of my truck. police came, no one got a ticket. except for 1 person. the lady who started it all. if you called the po po. more than likely the 1 st car would have gotten a ticket for making an illegal turn. i would have called. anyway. sorry to here about your car. but glad to see you got it where you needed it to be.

You should have called the police. My buddy at work totalled his car the same way yesterday.....someone tried turning in through the median infront of him and he housed her car totalling his. Cop gave the other driver multiple citations for the illegal turn and whatever else eventhough my buddy hit her from behind.

Go to the local police department where the accident occurred IMMEDIATELY and ask for a citizen's accident report. Get your side on record now. They should give you two forms, a yellow form and a white form. You fill the yellow form out and hand it over to the department and they will assign a number to it, give you a copy and keep it on file. You fill out the white form and mail it to the state.
Next time, GET A POLICE REPORT ON THE SCENE. I had the same thing happen. I rear-ended some dude's car and we exchanged info. I waited forever for him to call me with an estimate but it never happened. Instead, when I went to renew my insurance, I discovered it had gone up over $1,000.00  Turns out he filed a claim with my insurance company, who took care of it WITHOUT EVER NOTIFYING ME. Needless to say, I no longer use that insurance company, who shall remain nameless (Their initials are Liberty Mutual).
Even if you're at fault, you are always safer with an accident report written by a police officer. The officer can also classify an accident as reportable or non-reportable, the latter of which means insurance doesn't have to get involved unless someone doesn't make good. The only risk you run is of a traffic summons if you're at fault. But those can be worked out in court, especially if there's no injury.
Good luck, man. I sincerely hope this doesn't bite you in the a$$.
