well.... to make a long story short, I need new brakes. The tire shop who I usually get tires from has this guy there who knows how to do brakes somewhat. So he told me to get the rotors and pads and he's put em on for me.

So, I got there today, and while he knows what he's doin, apparently he didn't have the right tool to take the thing apart to get to the rotors to replace em, so he couldn't do it.

So- I have new rotors and pads- but nobody to put em on. The guy was going to cut me a break to put them on, but whatever anyone here wanted to do the job right I'd be happy to pay.

So yeah, that's where it stands right now. Anyone know how to put brakes on and need some extra money? Or know someone who I could go to? Cuz I'm at a loss.... and I don't want to look like a complete jerk to a shop because I'm some smartalec kid who bought his own parts cuz he's cheap, lol... cuz if I'd known my friend couldn't do it right, I probably woulda just went to a shop anyway.

Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there, lemme know. :)

do 'em yourself, that allen key is ot hard to find at all
i got mine at sears, only thing is that it's not by the regular ratchet stuff
it's not hard at all once you know how to do it right and have the right tools.

dont get the allen key...go to home depot or sears and get allen sockets for a 3/8" socket wrench...makes breaking those bolts loose 40x easier

Who's to say you even need new rotors? Are you sure you need to replace yours?

Meh, replace them. I have seen good rotors for cheap. I dont charge to resurface them when we do brakes, but I know a lot of places that do.

...The tire shop who I usually get tires from has this guy there who knows how to do brakes somewhat. That is the most bizzare statement ever...
