lets go METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No kidding man. Now if only Beltran and Delgado can hit some long balls, they'll be even better.

Back to the Yanks, if we can just get some decent starting pitching, we might actually win some games again.

The yanks shouldnt have let go of sheffield. He was in good health since his return from the injury, and helped the yanks alot in the previous years. Its only april... I remember a certain year when they started out like 8W and 19L and still won the Eastern title :-P

EXACTLY. I loved Shef in NY. He came through in the clutch in 04 and 05 and played injured and didnt complain.

Shef? That malcontent is hitting .143. Hitting is not the issue. It is all pitching - and now catching.

Now hear this: "Hughes to make major league debut for Yankees on Thursday"

Yeah, Hughes, theirs our savior

ahem, boston fans.....yanks are puttin up between 5 and 10 a game, they put up over 5 3 straight days against your big three pitchers including your fat old man, your sushi eating billionare, and the overratted guy.

the only reason they arent winning is because they are using DOUBLE A PITCHING....have fun when the pitching is healthy and steinbrenner spends some money .....

that is all

there is no need to bash Boston fans on a forum, statistically speaking 100% of them are illiterate anyway

boston wins one world series in 100 years and all of a sudden they are a dynasty. lol
the yankees get off to a slow start in april more often than not in the last 20 years, so no one should cares. they will make the playoffs and without any problem and they have plenty of time to sort out the pitching issues.
some of the young talent needs time to adapt and some of the older guys need time to heal up. no big deal.

We need pitcing all over too. Not only do we need solid starters that can make 7 innings a game, but a SOLID staff to help them out if they get into trouble.
Andy had it sealed Friday night, shutting Boston to only 2 runs. Bull Pen rolls in, and that 4 run lead drops to 1 run behind after several poor attempts by the relief staff. Rivera cant be a machine forever, and Boston has that guy down pat!! They see him 30 times a year!! New blood needs to be brought in, be it AAA or another team, but we gotta get some help with the guns. The sticks are there, and the big gun ARod finally is coming around. Yanks will not make it past wild card if they cant get a pitching staff.

Seriously, could you imagine how bad a hole we'd be in right now if he wasn't on fire? Our pitching is just crap right now. But Wang's back tonight, and I hear they're bringing Hughes up for Thursday. Could be what we need to get the team winning again.

They do have young guys in the minors one kid pitching in triple-A out here in SWB is 21 years old. Don't think one kid alone will save a team. Don't rush them, it's a waste of talent, let them mature and develop into big league pitchers. It doesn't happen overnight, talent only takes you so far, decision making, maturity, composure all those things take some time. BTW Darth Steinbrenner is spending the money, just on the wrong people haha. You guys appreciating A-Rod yet?

the yanks don't stand a chance in getting clemens unless they start winning. clemens has been vocal in saying he's coming back to a contender. he wants a ring to go out on, the yanks have the money; but not the wins yet.

Clemens wanted to come to NY, but didnt want to travel to all the away games. Cashman said no deal so Clemens stayed.

when did you hear that? as far as i've heard as recent as march (haven't heard anything more recent)....the same as last year...clemens is going to pick the winner of the stros, sox, and yanks. he stuck w/ the stros last year, and maybe he will this year. being a stros fan I honestly want the franchise to move on and get some other acquisition. i'm not saying you're wrong i'm just wondering if i missed an update, if so i'd be interested in reading the article or w/e. either way i don't particularly believe clemens is the answer to the yanks pitching ailments.

Cashman made him an offer last year. Clemens said he didnt want to travel as much, like he does with the 'stros and Cashman told him no deal, if he came to NY again, he'd have to travel to all the games so he declined. Clemens wants to spend more time with his family and not on the road. I dont see him going back to Boston, as he's made comments in the past about how he didnt go out on good terms with the Sox and came to NY to be a rival against them (I heard that on one of the stories they did on the Yes Network).

yea he definetly did not go out on good terms w/ the sox, but it seems like he keeps them in the running because they are a winning team. the 'stros are convenient being as close to his real 'home' as they are. i believe all 3 teams made offers last year, and the clemens 'stipulations' were part of the deal to be worked out before any signings were made. as this year i dont know bout the sox or yanks, but the 'stros met with clemens a month ago or so to see if he was going to retire or still considering them and throwing a preliminary offer out there to consider. bottom line, clemens is a mercenary now, he doesn't particularly care (IMO) which colors he wears, just as long as he is wearing them soaked with champagne. we'll have to wait and see
