I'm blacking out headlights, cornerings, taillights, and parking lights

and getting the rear "camaro" filled in with black vinyl

tints... maybe.. but with t-tops.. i'll probably have em down all the time, hahaha

smaller antenna
and dropping the suspension in the future.

right now it has slp intake kit/slp loudmouth exhaust/shift kit/ b&m transmission cooler/new beefed up tranny/its auto naturally.

Get that air-dam to the floor! Other then that it looks pretty good. I personally wouldn't mess with the stock head-lights but look for a set of HALO style ones.

I love the black striping in the inside of the scoop on the hood, looks nice. id say lower, maybe a little engine work, nutin too major, a sunoco hood, the rear bezel where you saud you were going to putthe black vinyl, get it black, i see a few peopel have them, something about berger camaros or something, and sub frame connectors if you dont have them already, itll help your car since you have t-tops. sorry guys im not too knowledged on SS's and such, just my weak ass v6 lol. hm, thats all i can thin of, other then thats, it is sick looking, i wish i had sime dough under my hands for somethign like that

My opinion... from a pewter camaro owner to another... paint the berger panel satin black (piece below the hatch between the taillights) and get chrome inserts... if ur gonna lower it, drive around your town and see where the bad areas are, cuz ur gonna be squishing your balls when u hit a bump lmao ... if u get lowering springs, make sure u get revalved shocks, cuz stock shocks wont cut it. Dont black out the headlights, get a pair of the standard ebay JDM black halos, they look best, or just do the whistler mod (research on LS1tech if u dunno what it is). Also, dont paint nightshade on the turn signals cuz itll look like garbage, shed out the extra $20 and get GTS blackouts, they look 10x cleaner. I would only suggest doing nightshade on the taillights, since the GTS covers for them are known to melt the lenses (I speak from experience lmao).

And to be original, and to give it a nice pewter/black combo look, look into hockey stripes (being serious lol). Even tho I recommend hockey stripes to almost everybody, the car wont be overdone and they look best on a light-shaded car, especially pewter.

BTW, the car looks great. Your gonna take my place of being one of the cpl ppl on here with pewter z/ss's since Im trading mine in. Good luck with it.

Yeah the panel that should be painted satin black, thats what i was talking about, that looks good on a pewter camaro. never was a good color on camaros in my book till i saw the panels on the back satin black, then i changed my mind, lol.

And as for the hockey stripes ,thats what I got, they make the car sexy as hell. heres the company i got mine from, http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/fenstripdecc.html, but I got measurements and am looking to cut a few out at my dads work sometime soon, so if you want a pair, give me a color thats on the list on this website, and ill make you a pair ;) and check out my fquick if you want to see how they look on my car.

IMO, Halos are the single best appearance mod you can do for a Camaro.

Dane, I think your plan is solid. Tinted windows, along with the blacked-out lights should look really sick. I'm a fan of the Berger panel, but I think just filling in the CAMARO lettering with the black vinyl will look really sharp with the black SS emblems and trim. Go for it!

Oh, and get that car lowered too!

WayFast84

Lower it
Tint it
Berger
black out the corners
and corsa knock off tints,

is what id do!

He's driven a v6 camaro, and a WS6 firebird, am I the only one here, or does anybody else here know the WS6 has a better suspension package then a v6?....thought so.

Tint, Slight Drop (slammed looks stupid on these cars for whatever reason, just my opinion), some 17x11s with some GSD3s, and berger panel should look great. Nice looking car already!

Oh really now, when you do that, Gran Turismo 4, or Need for Speed High Stakes? and I want to correct myself on a former post on this thread, I said I had hockey stripes, I ment to say I like the hockey stripes, but I like G.S. stripes too, but either way, they'd look awsome on your car. have you thought about painting your calipers? and I just put SFC on my car.....wow, what a difference, I cant believe how much that cleaned up my cars handling. I bought UMI's 3 point system, so yeah like I said, if you dont have them you should get them.

Is the car going to be a driver or a garage queen? Are you in NJ? If you drive it daily and live in NJ, I wouldn't lower much at all due to our POS roads. The tint will also attract a lot of police attention so don't go too dark. The blacked out headlights will also attract police attention so that might not be worth it either. If you're not in NJ, then ignore what I said. Oh, by the way, you'll never be able to tow a boat if you lower it too far!

Absolutely in NJ...

familiar with out pos roads and police, lol

i was thinking 15% tints.. is that too much too little?

and 1 1/2" drop.. should i maybe go 1 1/4"?

i was going to through on anti-sway bars too, maybe i should post this in the performance section.. but i hear the ss has an antisway bar on it thats pretty good?

Blacdout96
05-11-2007, 09:21 PM
yes, they are 32mm, as to my V6 had 30mm hollow, im not sure if yours are hollow. im not sure if Z28's came with 32mm, but if you wanna go bigger, RKsport sells 35mm front and 25mm rear, and you can get it as a set for 325. I got them and now whenever i go thru a hard turn or and on/off ramp, my car does not crouch one inch, it stays flat as a board, but they work together with sfc's so well. youll also notice a more, responsive handling, before i put them on, whne ihit certain bumps down my road, it would wantto make the car go left or right, now i go over em, and the car doesnt flinch.

I shopped around for the vinyl for the back - the cheapest place I found it was http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/vinyl/vinyl.htm
It took him about a week to get them out to me- but they were really nice. I was happy with it - I think they were $8 with free shipping.

The SS actually handles really well from the factory. It's really a little too stiff for our POS roads. It would be a waste doing much to try and improve the handling. The biggest issue with lowering is if you have to deal with speedbumps anywhere. My parking lot at work has them so no way I would lower. The headers on my 70 SS396 already scrape on them at work. Lowering will make it look better but the handling won't improve a lot over stock. If you're not planning on autoxing the car then don't waste too much time or $$ on the suspension/handling improvements. The best handling improvement you can make is putting on a trailer hitch! It actually bolts together the whole rear frame area much tighter and you can easily feel the difference. I'm not sure what the law is on tint % here in NJ but if you go too dark you will probably get hassled and might not pass inspection.

15 % looks great I have it on my formy. It's truly luck of the draw what cops will bust your balls over it. Some care, some dont, if you catch one on a bad day you can be sure that you will get hassled and probably a ticket. Back window can legally be tinted I believe as dark as you want. Sides can't, but oh well.

Actually, the hitch is very low profile and 90% of the people that look at the back of the car never see it until I point it out. I also use the hitch to mount a bike rack for carrying my mountain bike and that way there is no chance the bike will ever touch the car.
