I LOVE the 66 Cobra's, and these replicas are hot. But the big thing I had was that you could only drive the roadster in fair weather.
Well, now they have this hard top coupe!! I want!! Well, after talking it over with my little brother Joey, we think we are gunna invest in them for his first car. I dont know how much they actualy work out to be, or what is needed to be done, or even heard of any stories about them, but it sure looks like a HOT car.

I prefer the Peter Brock Daytona Coupe FWIW. A good friend of my dads has one and the thing is nothing short of incredible.

i still wouldnt take it out in bad weather?
i guess wind plays a factor between the two
& getting caught in the rain wouldn't be as big a deal

go for it man!

Looks pretty nice. Just not sure how much you wanna invest in something like that for a first car.....

Yeah I'm with Justin on this one. Nice car, but definately not a first car for someone. How old is your brother? How responsible is he behind the wheel of your parents car? What do you think his insurance will be...?

If he wants a sports car for his first, tell him to buy a third gen. Less expensive to buy and insure, and far less powerful.

Joey is 11, so we have a long long way to go. The original plan was for him to probably take the 72 as his fun car.
This wouldnt be a daily driver, but a car he could take out for fun, nice days, and not have to worry about rain if it so happens.
I would do a basic 350, backed by a 700R4, something simple, nothing overpowering.

I was serious into buying a cobra replica a few years ago from street beasts at that time just for the body and chassis with no running gear was $15K.

Meh..thats not that bad for a fun car. I assume you have to purchase braking stuff along with engine?

Yeah for 15k its preet much bare. You need rear, trans, engine. suspension, and brakes.

Eh....nevermind, thats a costly kit car.
Looks like he will have to settle for the 72. Poor kid.

If you want a hardtop I would go with one of those SuperFormance Daytona Coupes.
