Ever go to a parking lot and decide to park far away so that no one will ding your car? Well, i rarely park my camaro in parking lots but yesterday I decide to take my girlfriend to the ramapo indian reservation to do a little hiking. I pull into the lot see a bunch of cars parked by the entrance to the woods so I park way away on the other side, 5min into the trip she realizes she doesnt want to take her bag so we go back to the car and some a-hole parked right next to me. so knowing that this lot would never fill up i moved the car down a few spots and took up two spots all to come out an hour later ro find a lovely $54 ticket on it. I could see if the lot was full and i was compramising space but c-mon, ever hear of a f'n warning? F the bergen county police, F'n scumbags!

I'm not one to dis the police, ive never had problems with them my entire life, some of my better friends are cops, but give me a f'n brake. How pathetic must ones loser life be to see a car parked a mile away, not even remotely compromising anyones parking. and decide to uphold the law and to serve and protect us of the tyranny of lawbreakers every where that he / she actually took the time to whip out a ticket book and write a $54 ticket. GO DIE SCUMBAG. Just because you are jealous of the fact I have a nice clean car and you drive a civic dont fine me ya jackass

Yea, I don't care how nice your car is (or mine for that matter), parking in two spots is against the law. If you wanna do it, be prepared for a ticket.

I understand your logic, but I wouldn't ever do it. IMO it just makes the driver of a car parked like that look like a jerk, and draws even more attention to it.

I gotta agree with Matt and Justin on this one, I fully understand why you do it, trust me...but if youre gonna leave the car there ya run the risk of that ticket.

Your not telling me anything new, I understand its against the law, and if a parking lot was full I would never dream of being that inconsiderate to pull some jerk off move like that. What I am saying is, who the hell actually takes time out of their life to enforce something so dumb without a warning if your not effecting anyone. I didnt park in a handicapped spot, i didnt block anyone, i didnt compromise parking for others, hell, you would have to go out of your way just to write the ticket. People get off for driving with beer on their breath, speeding, wreckless driving with warnings at the officers discression. All I am saying is someone had a decision to write a BS ticket on a technicality to screw someone out of $54 just because he wants to take care of his car, or write a warning and they chose the ticket. I'm bitching about the decision they made. Loser move, plain and simple.

And no they dont drive a Ferrari because they work on cop salary and if they did they would recognize the reason why it was parked that way.

Eh....I personally know officers in my town that make in excess of 100k a year (before overtime and bonuses). One in particular can afford to race an alcohol dragster, I'm sure he could buy a Ferrari if he wanted to.

Just because the officer may appreciate what you were trying to do, doesn't mean that he/she should automatically cut you a break.

i just re-read that last post, if it sounds like im arguing, im not, emotions can easly be misconstrued over e-mail, just ask my girlfriend.. i'm just venting cause im pissed. Im just gunna talk to my buddy, hope he can squash it if not just pay the $54 and be done with it. Just the fact I bothered writing this much about it isnt even worth the money. I just know that in my industry I cut people a lot of leeway and bend rules if they are not flagrantly abusing them or jeopardizing the well being of others. increase the peace.

As for the hiking, Its ok, i just like to watch all the stoner college kids walkin around all paraniod to remind me of what i looked like and if you like dogs a lot of people bring dogs there. The lower lake is mainly for yuppie joggers who come in their BMW's after work to get in touch with nature. There are some trails steming off of that, you will see on on the west side of the lake right in the middle that goes off over a small wooden bridge and up the mountain which you can see the city from. On the south west corner of the lake there are several paths, the main one is gravel and it takes you up to the upper lake where a lot of poeple swim even thoug your not supposed to. There is a run off from the upper lake to the river which has a few water falls you can see from this path, there are more paths going beyond that lake all the way back to 287

personally, I like walking where there are minimal people, I have found one of the nicest spots around to hike is by parking my car in warwick NY at the train station and walking either way on the tracks. Real nice country, streams, mountains, bridges etc. Other than that lake welch in harraman is nice too, good view of Manhattan from some hill tops, storm king and Manatoga by Bear Mt. are real nice walks too

Ted, the park is huge if you can find your way back but no matter what it's a nice walk to get out and about
the trails are all marked and all but i haven't been on all of them
so i can't attest to too much

I don't care what anyone else says, it sux that they had to be so dayum trivial as to write you a ticket. When ever I take the AMX anywhere I park far away and take up two spots, unless I know who is gonna be parked next to me. I didn't spend all the time and money fixing up my ride to have some jagoff soccer mom or yuppie scum ding up my paint!:-x

In defence of other people parking next to nice cars I do it when I have to in the hopes of that person will take care getting into the car while next to mine..
So one nice car next to another hopefully you end up with 2 owners being respectful to each others car..

But on the other side there is always that person that parks right next to you after you go through the hassle of parking far away from the rest of the cars in the parking lot..
My g/f and I make bets with each other while leaving places regarding if there is one car next to mine or one on each side of my car after going through that trouble.

Just like I hate people that put flyers on cars and went to court for hitting someone that I caught putting a flyer on my car
