i think youre an idiot for getting anything over a 250 for your first bike...get a ninja 250R for $1500, sell it in a year for $1400, buy a bigger bike

thats just my opinion, dont get all pissy

well have you ever ridden a motorcycle before i think 600 should be your max cc ive ridden a few gsxr 600 and they fun light and have tons of power but if youve never ridden before i advise against it! i agree with matt look into kawasaki 500 they are a good beginner bike with plenty of power and look good!

the starter bikes hold their value better too so its kinda a no brainer

anyone that says their bike has never been abused is a damn liar. even if its only time to time people get the urge to ride hard. i have a 600 as my first bike and only dropped it once in my shed.

oh one ls1 SS
05-10-2007, 08:38 PM
GET A BUSA!! honestly.. it all depends on how your going to ride. i had a 600 for my first and we all know what happened there. if your going to be responsible and not **** around and not ride outside of your boundries then you *should* be fine.

i miss my bike :(

600cc was my first bike dropped it once trying to move it back lol. if you've been on a bike before then get the 600 plenty of power to play with and light enough to learn with.

have you sat your test? you may have said but i forget these things lol

I've seen more accidents with sportbike riders than cruiser riders. I ran with a volunteer fire co. for over 10 years. I also ride. Find the smallest cc bike you can get and go to a parking lot . Do figure 8's,circles and whtever else. Learn how the bike reacts when you do this or that. Ride the hell out or it in the lot. Wail on the throttle, then jam on the brakes. Know your machine in and out before you go on the road.

the first bike i have ever ridden was a ZX 9 and i learned when i was prolly 15 around a big parking lot but i have been racing dirt bikes since forever! the first bike i owned and still own is a Suzuki gs700es i bought it cheap and it runs great ! i have ridden a hayabusa a gsxr 750 600 and zx9s i still like riding my gs 700 because it doesnt get me in trouble its light and its cheap so if i destroy it in a crash it wont be that big of a deal!

Honestly it doesnt matter what bike you have first, If you go out there being an a$$ your going to drop it, Hell You can drop anything, Some times its your fault, some times its stupidity and some time $h!t just happens!

Bottom line, get what bike you want and can afford, but respect it, and dont show off.

it absolutely matters what ur first bike is. i've been riding for years and there is no denying that every now and again u get the urge to twist into the thottle and let her tach a bit. an inexperienced rider on a missle is gonna make that decesion at the wrong time at least once and that's all it takes to put urself in a wheel chair for life or worse. i've been behind guys that have gone down at 110, it aint pretty. get the docile bike first man. i know it's a hard pill to swallow, but u'll be infinitely safer. no hunk of metal is worth ur life.

no matter what bike you get your only as safe as your gear.....

seen many legs after slow speed drops and i would never ride in just shorts again or everyday jeans i like my legs the way they are, i dont wear leathers most of the time but theres alternatives like draggin jeans or alpinestars cargo pants (i wear these all the time to class on the bike) and its true the second that you start to loose respect for the bike your going down cause it will bite you in the ass

Thanks for all the concern, it is noted and I do take it all into consideration. But all I really wanted to know about was the price and if it could have been negotiated.

4300 is a good price id say thats a little under what a bike in that shape gos for you may be able to talk him down to 4000! but i think 43 is a good price

Check out Kelly Blue Book prices then decide for yourself. The auction said "third owner, never raced" bull$#it. Never seen a sportbike "never raced." If this is your first bike, badchoice. Get an old cruiser or standard and ride it like you stole it. Beat on it, wail on it, it will help you in the future.

05-13-2007, 10:18 AM
seen lots of sportsbikes not raced depends on the owner really i know guys that just enjoy the ride of the sportsbike compaired to a cruiser and ofcourse the weight difference.

anyway good luck finding a bike dude 4000 would be pretty good for that age of bike etc and if you get one im sure you wont regret it in the end they are way too much fun just be smart

im just curious as to why the pipe in the pic isnt included and the 2 bros one is instead... its not like 2 bros is cheap stuff either. 400+ as well... makes me believe the bike was dumped post-pic and repaired and the pipe needed to be replaced...

edit: nevermind, i read it wrong, seems the pipe in the pic was the original, i for soem reason thought it was an aftermarket one already, so nevermind, lol

DieselKickYoAss4Sure
05-13-2007, 02:33 PM
yeah i was liek thats the stock pipe i guess the pics wer taken before the 2 bros was put on!

check the kelly bb, craigslist, and ebay for simular years/condintion.. base the price on that...take an experienced rider with you to check out the bike and ride it to make sure its ok..

just take it slow with the 600 and you'll be fine..
