View Full Version : ANYONE NEAR THE FOREST FIRE LOOK INSIDE
If anyone lives in the area of the wildfire please PM me asap...I have a hunting cabin in the area of Lucille's Diner on 539. If anyone can find out if that area is in danger of burning I would appreciate it.

yeah my mom got stuck in that crap down there...sucks to be her
Well this ****ing sucks. According to the news the fire is on both sides of rt 539 in the area of lucilles. There is SO much history contained in that hunting cabin, I really have no idea what we're going to do if it burns

I understand how you are feeling. My family owns a cabin in Lake Arrowhead (Big Bear) area and I'm sure you guys got some wind of all the fires that happend. We were convinced we would lose everything up there -- lots of stuff that my grandmother collected and quilts that she hand made. She has alzhemiers now and if we lost all that stuff it would suck cause we couldnt get it back.
We ALMOST lost the cabin -- came within one block of the cabin on two sides -- jumping tree tops. for some reason the wind changed direction and blew it the other way. I pray that the same happens to you (your place is spared). Honestly I do..and i will keep praying till you tell me that its ok.
Hope everything turns out ok.

Good news jon, seems they have shut down the Parkway for good between exit 58 - 63 and on and off between AC and Toms River. Going east -west rt 72 and 539 are closed and rt 9 is a stand still right now.
More people are being evaced out and the back fires have blazed up because of the wind.

Yea, just started pouring on this side of the state - hopefully it will make it's way across pretty quickly and help slow things way down.

crazy stuff, my shore house is in manahawkin and we ride dirtbikes all through the pine barrens where it's all on fire. I think they said a spark from a fighter jet practicing over there is what caused it.

The fighter jet let off flares(the kind that divert missles away from the heat signature of the jet's engines) and one of em didn't go out before it hit the ground and started the fire

And not the 1st time they have done it. I'm guessing this time they might catch some flack.

No, they drop flares from the planes.

yes, but if the flares didn't go out before they hit the ground you'd think it would be a possibility

Oh, I misunderstood the question. Maybe. Why they need to use live flares for an exercise seems nuts, considering the local environment.

I remember when the pine barrens were on fire years ago, it's gonna take awhile for them to grow back again
