What songs make you shut off the radio or turn to another station? I listen to classic rock, and these are a few of the songs that make me wanna barf:
1. Stevie Nicks-Edge of 17. She sounds like she hasa stick up her azz on this one.
2. Joe Cocker-ANYTHING by him makes me wanna heave. Watta no talent!
3.David Essex-Rock on. STOOPID! STOOPID! STOOPID!
4.Beatles-Hey Jude. Too long, too lame.
5.Stones-Emotional Rescue. Disco doosh
6.Blondie-Heart of Glass. More disco dooshery.
And maybe more to come...

well, last year for certain, it was -- Lips of an angel" by Hinder i swear to god i heard it 4x a day at work and i was ready to snap.
another one i hated was the remake of skynnyd's "simple man" by shinedown. IMO, they f*ckin killed it by trying to add ***** to it. their own music is cool but they shouldve never attempted to redo simple man...

i actually liked both those songs, but i also listen to sirius so i didnt hear hinder 20000x per day, anything overplayed starts to suck.. and shinedowns cover i thought was better than any other cover of it that i've heard before, but nothing beats the original.
i cant think of any songs played on the stations that i actually listen to that make me want to turn them off, but sometimes im just not in the mood for a song or dont care to know the name of it, just know that i don't like it ;)

caveman from geico commercials: yeah, i have a reply. uh, what?
rush? maybe their latest stuff is not so good, from like, power windows until the present, but the early years kick ass like nobody's business.
"we built this city", starship
my addition to the list of the worst ever. it should be permanently banned from the airwaves, and all copies should be gathered up and burned, ala fahrenheit 451.

There is no accoutning for taste.
Anything by Bob Seger. Old Time Rock N Roll is one of the most puke indicing songs I ever heard. Meat Loaf is #2 on that list. Using a Phil Rizzuto voice over saves him from the #1 spot. Holy Cow!

At work they have KTU on in the one building and I hate the older dance music/discoish songs. Another thing I can't stand is how everyday KTU say's "no repeat workday" ok great, you don't play the same song twice in one day but everyday it's the same exact songs..enough! Not many particular songs make me want to puke, but hearing the same ones over and over again does.

New "pop" punk. All of it. Every damn song.
Another due to RABID overplaying: Hotel California. I think 97.5 the Hawk played it every hour. I used to like it, now it makes me want to stab myself with a "steely knife".

Nah, man, that's just WRONG. With as deep of a catalog as Rush has, there gotta be some underlying trauma to make you such a hater. Rush isn't my #1 fav band, but they have enough cool stuff to keep me interested, and they were the first band I ever saw in concert.

Ah, yer a bonehead. Bob Cigar has a lot of good stuff besides the lame "Old Time R&R," and Fat Loaf's "Bat outa Hell" has more good material then ya can shake a hot dog at.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/Emos/clonk.gif Every Zep fan in the land just shuddered. They were a live band extraordinaire. I had the video for one of the May 1975 Earls Court shows on in the garage today. Love it. 45 minutes of Dazed & Confused. Maybe someday Page will actually put that show out for people to buy. :shifty:

They were the perfect live band if ya were all smoked up or trippin' the light fantastic. They weren't the worst, but they were far from the best. Too many studio tricks, over dubbed guitars and other stringed instruments, JPJ not having four arms to be able to play keys and bass at the same time, and Plant's voice going from here----------------------to here do not make for a great live band. N' I've heard enough live stuff from authorized to boots to stand on my case.

UGH THE GF SONG IS TRAPPED IN MY HEADDDDDDDDDD GET IT OUT!!
What happend to the depressing little girl from Canada? Wasnt she all about punk rock and being bad ass?
Now its pop and damn near quazi rap? It is a catchy little bastard...
And if anyone has seen the video, she cannot dance at all, the movements just make you wana cringe. The lyrics suck as well.
The You and your hand tonight song is played on Z100 every time I cycle through the stations. Pink is ugly as sin, I belive she used to be a guy, and I just dont like her anything.
That new American Idol girl, the country western girl...Im gunna smash her headlights in if that song doesnt come off teh radio.
Pretty much every single American Idol person who has made a record blows donkey sack. Kelly Clarkson...that girl hates men so much. I would like to meet the ******* who ruined her life so I can punch him in the face, cause he is the basis of all her crappy songs. Only thing I liked is when Booker (when he was on 92.3 free) how he would blast the song and sing it on the air...I miss that bastard.
MIMS's This is Why Im Hot...the beat is great (i downloaded just the beat the other day) but the song is pointless. My little brother sings it all the time, and I yell at him that this is not rap. I slap in Chronic 2001, and all is well....whew. All this new age rap, coming from the south and the crap it gets morphed into when it hit the NYC area...wow its garbage. No lyrics, no real meaning, nothing just general turds.
GNR...ugh no more. Welcome to the Jungle is about it, only cause you get it pumped at one million dB's at football games in HS. Knocking on Heavens Door, and November Rain...YOU'RRRRRRRRRRRRRRE GUNNA DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEE!!, ugh I hate those two songs.
Add to the list all the emo crap, the pop rock turds, and rock/rap...that came and went...no need to bring it back.

Too many studio tricks, over dubbed guitars and other stringed instruments, JPJ not having four arms to be able to play keys and bass at the same time, and Plant's voice going from here----------------------to here do not make for a great live band. N' I've heard enough live stuff from authorized to boots to stand on my case.To each his own. But I respectfully disagree. If you haven't heard/seen the 1970 Royal Albert Hall show on the last DVD release, it is one of the all time live shows ever released. Or even the 1972 shows that make up the cd How The West Was Won.
I like that Zep did not sound like the record on stage. If I want that, I'll stay home & listen to the CD. Every show was different. Page & Bonham change it up nightly – one can never get enough Bonham. Go to Wolfgang's Vault (http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com/) and listen to the 69 shows from the Fillmore. (that site is great – some great Sabbath shows too). Plant did have voice troubles over the years; it is generally believed he had surgery in 1972. They didn’t use voice coaches back in the day. They would even play 2 shows a day.
I will say I am not a giant fan of the late era - like the 1977 US tour (the tour that all the 14 year olds buy the shirt from hot topic) or Europe 1980. Far too hit or miss, overdone solos, etc. Drugs are bad, mmm-kay. But the 77 Stairways can be epic; on most nights, Page really turns in some gems. I usually skip to where Bonzo kicks in.
Rush is note for note on stage. Last tour they did a 30 minute medley of early songs, it was great. Very un-Rush like. But they are so good I overlook the note for note thing. I like the Stones live too – they sound nothing like their records. I think that is the big factor regarding live music – people either like a note for note recital or loose & different experience. I prefer the latter.

:werdmelissa: i hate that song with a passion, same with beyonce(?)- irreplaceable or whatever it is.
i dont think she or for the most part any rapper is an artist. all they do is speak to a repeating beat with songs that have very little meaning or good contribution to the music world.

The Final Countdown... nahnahnahnaaaah.... (Europe)
Made me think of this:
http://www.woot.com/Blog/BlogEntry.aspx?BlogEntryId=1965
Malachi watched the white-clad figures fanning out between the trees on the hillside below the cabin. They were coming, as Malachi and his small band of renegades had always known they would. Nobody defied the Pod World Order and got away with it for long.
“What are we gonna do, Mal?” pled Jessamyn, in a voice near hysterics.
“Let ‘em come,” Malachi spat defiantly.
But young Kevin wasn’t so sure. “I – I think it’s over, Malachi,” he stammered, his Kalashnikov shaking in his trembling hands. “We can’t possibly hold out – ”
“No, dammit, no,” Malachi insisted. “Jessamyn, when they wanted to give you that apple tattoo, you stood up to them. Kevin, when they tried to make you hang the Chairman’s picture on your wall, you fought back. As for me, well, I never made a single damn call with their overhyped phone. All that time we were locked up in their iGulag – was that all in vain? Are we just going to give up our Toshiba Gigabeat 60GB Black Portable Media Players now?”
“But Mal, maybe they’re right,” Jessamyn answered. “Maybe…maybe their way really is better.”
“That’s fear talking, girl. The Gigabeat is smaller, it’s cheaper, it has a bigger screen. It can play audio files like WMA Lossless, WMA, MP3, and WAV, video files like MPEG-4, AVI, and MOV when transcoded to WMV, and display JPGs. It’s compatible with DRM music from sources like Napster To Go, Rhapsody, and eMusic, along with other devices and systems like the Xbox 360 and TiVo To Go. And it can hold tons of media on its big 60GB hard drive.
“But most importantly, we don’t have to crawl to the Chairman to use it. We don’t have to use his prescribed cables – just a simple USB connection lets it connect to any XP PC. We don’t have to give that tyrant a penny. Now, here’s the question: would you rather die standing with your Gigabeat, or live on your knees as a slave to the Chairman’s pod?”
Kevin and Jessamyn looked at Malachi, then at each other. Outside, the white helicopters hovered overhead.
“Sorry, old man,” Kevin muttered. Then the two of them were out the door, their hands in the air, running toward the white troops in abject surrender.
So be it, Malachi thought. He’d make his stand alone. With the Toshiba Gigabeat’s intuitive Microsoft PMC 2.0 navigation, he queued up “The Final Countdown” by Europe and leveled his AK at the spectral white soldiers moving toward the house. See you in hell, you bastards – unless we’re already there.
I love woot.....
