Whats the best way to hook up a chain to a motor so I can lift it out?
I have no heads on it.

You could use a bolt from your transmission, and thread the chain through it back into the block for one corner, and the other go to the opposite side and bolt the chain into an accessory hole.

Or you could buy an engine lift plate that bolts into your manifold.

Yea, but that wouldn't work too well without heads to bolt the manifold too.

Matt, I would just use a few of the old head studs to attach the chain to the block. Make sure you screw them in a ways, as you want plenty of thread in the block for extra holding power.

If you are taking the engine and trans out together, make you you connect the chain near the rear of the block. If you are just pulling the motor, then aim for the center.

Yep, that's how I do it, unless it's a tight engine bay- then out comes the leveler.
