Its really a fun drive to the area, its back country roads, so a lot of dips & turns. I've been out in that area before and have been out there by Sussex Airport since as far back as I can remember. Its definitely worth the trip IMO.

I set a time-frame for my car just to be finished for this!

For anyone from the West-Central Jersey area, I know all the back roads to get up there for a nice scenic cruise. We'll setup a meet up spot and time when the date gets closer.

Here's a map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=newton,+nj&ie=UTF8&ll=41.118899,-74.712793&spn=0.002922,0.005021&t=h&z=18&om=1) of the location. The roundish building in the center is the Chatterbox, and the vast majority of the land around it fills with cars every saturday night. That's what our club will be in the middle of :)

Cool. 2+ hours on 206 seems less then fun. :)

Don't worry, my way involves some time on 579, 31, and a bunch of other roads that I don't even know the names of. My grandparents have a farm only 5 minutes north of the Chatterbox, so I could get there with my eyes closed.

Hey NJSpeeder you have any hook ups to set up the next cruise at a beach somewhere like Belmar or Pt Pleasant? That would be really cool

we have plenty of connections around the jersey shore, just not the money to take advantage of them. places towards the beach only speak the language of cash and won't jsut set aside space/tables/staff for a group that doesn't put up a deposit or promise to have 50 + show up.

firebirdcrazy
05-29-2007, 12:34 PM
I know money is tight these days, but for a great show at the beach I would shell out some cash to chip in. I guess everyone would have to pitch in for something like that though. One huge beach event would be awesome if it can happen.

NJSPEEDER
05-29-2007, 12:54 PM
it isn't something that will happen this year. we have been trying to move summer meets towards the shore, just haven't been able to find a spot that works well that is affordable for the club currently.
we are already working on a few things for next year, we will see how it pans out. :)

I'm a strong possibility as long as I don't have to work(unpaid OT). We have a big conversion coming up at the end of the month so I really don't know at this point in time. But I am wondering which route will be the least number of stop signs and traffic lights. Too many stops will not be good for the 396, the clutch and my leg.

Savage_Messiah
06-08-2007, 10:09 AM
(unpaid OT)

the "have to work" combined with "unpaid" makes this the lamest potential excuse that I have ever seen.

These sort of things happen when you have a real job with a salary instead of an hourly wage.

- Justin

NJSPEEDER
06-08-2007, 01:45 PM
these things don't happen if you have any sick days left. if i'm not getting paid, i'm not working. to me it is that simple. try to make me come in, sick day + doctors note = they cant do anything about it.

BonzoHansen
06-08-2007, 03:33 PM
That is part of the job in systems. You don't work computers and not expect occasional w/e time - that is when the users are not around. We do that too, but at least my boss throws us comp time elsewhere.

NJSPEEDER
06-08-2007, 04:38 PM
i wish the IT people at lowes were that smart. they like shutting down ordering systems in the middle of the busier shopping days to do systems upgrades. the usual result is a bunch of lost customers and a system with even fancier non-working features.

Yeah, that was a pretty good meet. I'm exhausted from driving the 70 so much the last 10 days. It's tired too. I need to adjust the clutch linkage, the shift linkage, change the rear diff fluid, flush the brake fluid and try to find the small oil and trans fluid leaks. But I did put over 600 miles on the car in the last 10 days so that's pretty good even with the issues it has.

MikeYeah, the black one and the orange 99 are owned by Frank & Sue, who were there with their 14 year old daughter (and friends). They are good people who come to some of our events and plan to come to the Nats. How about you guys showing some respect and not talking about their daughters.

NOTE: All posts related to these young ladies have been deleted. Any further discussion will result in an immediate banning from NJFBOA. If you cannot show respect for the people who come to our meets, your presence is not wanted. Thank you.
