I rolled the iroc over the scale @ atco and the damn thing is a tank! 3450 with me in it!!!! I ran a 9.87@140 and I know there is weight in there somewhere I can get rid of. One catch - I dont want to take out my passengers seat, headlights, or other functional things on the car.. Got any ideas?

P.s. it does loose weight a little every pass when it drags the rear bumper but thats not really effective to good et's.

Does your windshield washer sprayer work? If not drain the bottle/remove it.

Do you carry things in the drivers side rear plastic thing? If not gut the cardboard thing, Mine weighed 4-5 pounds empty for some reason...

we remove every washer in the car -
we cut every bolt down to a mim
on most of the sheet metal / we replace 1/2 with alloy bolts/fab all the tin we can with alloy
also have in some cases drilled out bolt centers but that only seems to be worth it on a bike
carbon fibre sheets are pricy but they can be helpful as well -- jz

Are you talking about things that can be removed for free? or Things you can purchase, or both?

Hey, I am not that fat 210lbs!
The car has no washer parts, no a/c, no p.s, PA k member and a arms. Is anyone making a fiberglass front crash bar? I do not want to take it out completely because the nose will be floppy and deflect upstairs and that will cost et big time. I would love to get the car down to 3100lbs with me in it so find me 300 lbs I can shave off!!

on the front and rear impact bars, you could remove the rear one completely if your willing, or just cut sections out of them.
for example, 91-92 birds have impact bumpers in the front with large holes cut on the ends to allow mounting of the turnsignals and fogs. you could hack out a good amount of metal fron the bars and still have enough to prevent deflection of the bumper cover.

there is a lot of little stuff you can do to get the job done. gimme a call this week so i can get a look at the car and figure out where you watn to to go with it.

BTW, my 91 RS was down to 3280 with me, full tank of gas, poer windows/locks/hatch release, working AC, and a stereo still in it :)

damn. at 9.8's and 3400lbs. i wouldnt be complaining. :whip:

NJSPEEDER

that is 9.40's at 3200lbs though :)
remeber, the principles of power to weight ratio expand as the power side of the formula is increased. as long as traction holds an additional 200lbs out of the car will yield 2.5-3mph more trap speed which is relatively minor, but will easily knock off 4+ tenths
