Are they trying to rip off Iron Maiden with that name? Because if not they should be slapped for ignorance, cuz they are ripping that off

my opinion, i liked the cd, the music is good.... BUT its not really like what they have done in the past, which is what i was really hoping for. its seems like people either love it or hate it, theres no middle ground. my advice: borrow it from a friend (or get somebody to burn it) and see what you think.

like i said, i really like it, but i would rather it have been more like their old stuff.

Im not asking for your own opinion on the band just this cd. I hate when bands get all political i.e. Green Day, they should be dropped into buckets of cemment and dropped into an ocean.

I heard one song other than that bleed it out song and it seemed politcal.

I could care less if they are "ripping off" another band's name or some crap.

It's OK. It could be viewed as political (i.e. "What I've done"). It's much slower than their old stuff as well.

Even the one SOD cd was too political.

This new CD is supposed to be a "new age" style CD. Its nothing compared to the older CD's which I am also a huge fan of. They tried to go more pop with a lot worse emo notes to them. The singing is terrible and they lost a lot of there old sound. Best bet is to just download the songs.

i listened to sirius why they were hosting & promoting
basically what they said is they put a bunch of stuff together they thought sounded good and didn't care what people thought the band should sound like

Iron Maiden:

Two Minutes to Midnight

Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
The Golden Goose is on the loose
And never out of season.
Blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death.

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain,
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.

The blind men shout let the creatures out
We'll show the unbelievers,
The Napalm screams of human flames
Of a prime time Belsen feast...YEAH!
As the reasons for the carnage cut their meat
and lick the gravy,
We oil the jaws of the war machine
and feed it with our babies.

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain,
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.

The body bags and little rags of children
torn in two,
And the jellied brains of those who remain
to put the finger right on you
As the madmen play on words and make us all
dance to their song,
To the tune of starving millions
to make a better kind of gun.

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain,
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.
Midnight...all night...

As a group, I doubt they are all Armenian (if any). It was a stupid comment. I was hoping for follow up, which never came. :)

Minutes To Midnight is a reference to the Doomsday Clock which calculates humanties closeness to total anihilation. The album is a bit different than the others, but they wanted to do what they wanted to do and not get stuck with one certain sound. Politics in music is nothing new either. You can go back and look at people like Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, etc, even Metallica, Disturbed, Tool, and a lot of the metal bands. Some people like it, some dont, its all personal opinion.

Horrible cd and I used to be a Linkin Park fan. I'm going to warn you, quite a few songs are political. I don't care for their message but hey, music can be used to get a message out there right?

It's NOTHING like their old stuff. I'm glad I um, "borrowed" it and didn't waste the $$ on that garbage.

:werd: tool is one of the most political bands i think i've ever heard, but what does it matter? music is about music, if you dont like the message then listen to the art behind it..
