Welcome to NJ! I had to get the bill of sale for my 70 SS396 notarized in Canada after I already had the car here in NJ. Always get the title or bill of sale notarized for NJ DMV. It helps make things run smoother.

I never had a problem, and I've never gotten anything notarized. Even when I bought out of state (like the Jeep I got from NY).

:nutkick: Well the person I bought it from never had the title signed over:evil: into his name. so I need to get a hold of the previous owner. Then I need to get to a notary to witness him sign a statement, because he put his drivers liscense number on the back of the title when it should not have been. Just a hassel I dont need right now I need the car cuz I traded my car for his one so I have nothing to drive.:nutkick: :twak:

So it's not DMV's fault, it's the fault of the guy you bought it from. ;)

Actually it was the guy he bought it from, but its just easy to blame it on the dmv.

I had no problems with a car I bought in Maryland.

Guys, reread what he said. ;) His situation is different than just titling an out of state car.

I was responding more to what Jeff said, not the OP. Prolly should have added the quote there to clarify that.

I got the car today. I had to get ahold of the previous owner, and get him to sign a statement in the presence of a notary. Then go back to the DMV today. The tint is not staying long its way to dark!
