im not sure if anyone here would know about this... but i want to get some A/C running in my mazda. other then sticking a full house sized window unit in the back slider (larry the cable guy, health inspector style), i dont know what ill need. im thinking that what id need is pretty standard for most vehicles but here are the truck specs...

1988 Mazda B2200 SE-5, 2wd, 2.2l 4cyl. manual windows & door locks

the truck does have a harness i believe would be for it but not sure. and the a/c & heat controls seem to be ready for it, but once again im not sure...

i dont have much of an idea of what ill need and im hoping i can just go to a local junk yard and grab the parts and be done with it...but the thing is, i dont know what i need..... if someone could fill me in id greatly appreciate it. i know ill need an a/c condesor and compressor, but what else?

you need a compressor that's good< i don't know what style restriction device they have either thermal expansion valve (TXV)or orifice tube most likely orifice tube you will need a new one of those, they are a cheep item and need replacement, a condenser an evaporator, the hoses, and depending if it has an orifice tube you will need a new accumulator, because once they are used and opened to atmosphere, they are no good as well, if it has a (TXV) you will have a receiver dryer because they go bad as well, and of course the refrigerant you will need to use R12 manifold gauge set to put the R134a refrigerant in because R12 is hella expensive.

any questions let me know

and about the R12...its illegal to sell it anymore. (but they do make R12 replacements but its really not worth it) so youll have to set it up for R134A which goes for like 6-7 bucks for a 1lb can.

you have to have a 609 automotive or a 608 universal licence to buy it I have both, the only reason the public can buy 134 is Cu's its in a 1lb container any more you need a the 609 licenses as well, 12 is only sold in 20lb container,

yeah...for r12 you need a license to purchase...we did the same thing at strauss...just do a r134 conversion, less headaches...

As I understand it..

R12 is no longer made. R12 can be sold, but you need a special ASE cert. Which I have around here somewhere. LOL.

Yes this is true. I have several 1 pound cans of R12 around. Gotta get them up on eBay at somepoint - I've seen un-rusted 1 lb cans sell for over $40.
