I need money to buy a 1988 GTA. the engine runs fine and I drive it to school all the time. great car, most work needed is cosmetic, never crashed, 350 chevy in it, original paint. If you want to see it first you can just PM me and find out my address. asking $4,700.

go here for pics.

Youre gonna need a lot more info; specs, pics, etc....basically a reason to why youre selling that car for that much

ebay link no work. Are you listing it on ebay? Please note rules:

This is not a place for eBay links to be left open. If you have an item you are selling on eBay and you would like to offer it locally, state that the item is also listed for local sale in your auction description and include the eBay link and asking price in the initial post.

Now back to the car....

$5500 could range from underpriced to overpriced. Condition of the body & rear frames rails goes a long way towards that. If you have pontiac paperwork confirming it is a real pace car, that is big time in your favor (check http://www.transamcountry.com/forum/ or http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/ on the paperwork if you don't already know about it). The Chevy engine is a big minus right off the bat.

If the metal is solid, I think you should get that value. 2nd gens in general keep climbing, and T/As lead the way for later years.

i don't see a turbo... did that go when you swapped motors? do you still have it? if yes, would you include it in the $5k selling price? is the original block still available?

i'm only interested if it has the turbo so i could change it back to original. i'm guessing finding a year-appropriate block is going to be difficult as well, so if you have it and would include it in the asking price we can do business.

nope, no turbo or block. I'm heading to a junkyard on saturday that has a 1980 trans am pace car so I would be able to see if they got the stuff for the car. I'll let you know then if it doesn't sell

If you took any time to clean it, get PMD documentation and then present it right, you very well might get what you want. Still haven't seen good pics, no under car shots at all. Showing solid frame rails goes a long way.

The 2nd gen TA market continues to rise. Do the required work and you'll do ok. Or do what you are doing and Squirrel is right.

why the hell would you crush a perfectly good trans am because you can get only 2 grand..?

clean it up, give it some shine, PM arock and have him shoot tons of nice photos for ebay.

I'm just saying that. Of course I'm not going to crush it! Its not what its worth to the buyer, it is what its worth to me.
