i was asking what tires you were running because street tires get moved OUT of the groove so as not to tear it up for the other cars. Friday night track conditions have nothing to do with prep, but with the cars running. You can't possibly expect the 10-15 slick cars to keep the track warm and sticky with 120 radial cars running, its just not gonna happen. Sundays the prep is always good, but if it reaches temps above 80º or so the glue gets hotter than its optimal temperature.
More than half the time that people complain about starting line conditions it has to do with them overpowering their tires. Then they come back and say 'well, last time i ran they hooked fine.' usually that last time was on a day that was 20-30º cooler. I race every weekend, i know the starting line well, and i'll be the first to say something if I cant hook. I regularly cut 1.10-1.11 60's in the spring/fall, and 1.12-1.13 in the summer. Sometimes the line isnt as good as other times, but more often than not its something that can be fixed rather than blaming everything on the track.
