If you want an LS1 fourth gen sell yours and go out and buy one. I can see no reason to re-invent something that could have been bought from GM that way. The LT1 has plenty of potential and will out last a LSx when built to comparable power levels.

You can pick up an LS1 + tranny for under $4K these days. Ofcourse you can mod your LT1 and spend a few hundred on gears, a few hundred on headers, and a few hundred on the TC if bought new and put your car in the 12.9-13.0(estimating) range depending on supporting mods. It really all depends on what you have to spend.

With those mods and good tires I am sure an LT1 would be quite a bit faster than 12.9. Chevelle Jon's car was definitely there if not faster with gears, headers, tune and exhaust. TC would of definitely put him a bit quicker!

Well its a daily driver and i want a manuel...badly... and this car has 110,000 miles so i was hoping maybe to pick up 4500 for it and post a couple more grand and get a ls1 m6 with decent miles & i have the stock gears in it now

While it isn't that cheap, it isn't that expensive. As for difficulty, that isn't too terrible either.
