he started revving, and moving past me and back me and etc... revealing he was modified...

i'm like... RX8... you must be kidding... didnt hear a BOV, so couldnt have had to worry at all

he really must not have known what i was capable of.

he egged me on to play a little cat and mouse.... this was northbound on tonnele avenue btw

i was pretty tired and not in the mood to think to make him believe i was slow.. so the cat quickly became the mouse... and than he kept trying to go around me...

lets just say this was NOT POSSIBLE... he'd slow down i'd slow down, he'd speed around i'd speed up

it was very funny, he really thought he had something!!!!

than he pulls up next casually and just pretty much bows down before the LS1, with a bunch of "holy s*** dude nice! oh man that thing is quick!"

than he took his exist, waved to me good bye and that was it

good sport about his terrible defeat

quick little tale for you guys!

autocross is more driver than anything else. have you ever been to an autocross event? cause some people bring SUVs and keep up with some low slung cars.

and a ls1 could hang damn close to a rx8 on a road course stock for stock. don't underestimate the abilities of an fbody. they are no BMW, but they hold their own

hell Just because of the weight distribution of my engine being behind the front tires, if I upgraded to IAS shocks/struts and bigger tires I could hang.

please dont tell me that you think an f-body handles as well as an rx8, stock for stock. How many times have you driven one? maybe next thing you're gonna tell me that it handles as good as elise too? or maybe its just the ls1 thing and it cant be beat?

and yes ive been to an auto-x's and have seen 0 f bodies there.

so on a road course the best handling car wins? power and grip have nothing to do with it? but our cars do handle well, i stick to my claim.

and i went with my buddy (s2000) to a auto-x and watched a ls1 best his time by 2 seconds. and you know how much 2 seconds is in autocross, especially since he auto-xs often and has a car that handles far better than an fbody

hey man, he seemed like a real cool dude, he probably said to himself "i want one of those" after this little happening.

he was very happy/impressed

that made it more fun for me i guess

- but yeah rx8 handle awesome. and rev forever apparently

meh who needs RPM when you can have low end torque

Tsar

well damn i guess if one ls1 beat one s2000, ls1s must be superior to all good handling cars, my apologies i wont even bother with a come back because i was clearly showed that nothing can touch the almighty GM and ls1.

how many times have you driven them back to back on the same course? if your gonna post for the sole reason of starting crap, then save us all the time....

RX8s handle great. It's a shame about the engine issues, though.

rx6,7,8 have a great motor. The Wankel has a 270 degree power stroke vs. the 180 of a V-8. Their weakness is the face and apex seals. It's the only import I would ever buy. Alot of potential.

lol at idiots will get you with their numbers...

if an "idiot" proves a point with numbers... and bases them off actual formula and science and math...

and you disagree with him...

you're a real idiot.

i heard the apex seals aren't as big of a deal as people make them out to be. my buddy in school has a second gen rx7 and his brother has a first gen. i drove the second gen and for what it is, its a blast. he does his apex seals in a day and he has no mechanical experience. motor swap in a second gen rx7 ftw

Yea the RX-8 engine is the renesis, its a good engine, ports are huge, but non turbo it's a dog, RX-8 redlines around 8 or 9 i don't remember, i remember my fc and fd both were around 82 or 8300 the buzzer would sound off. The apex seals aren't bad they are just tempermental, they usually go bad from either sitting a long time, carbon buildup, around 130-150k they usually pop...sounds like dropping a socket in a flex fan and then the car sounds like its stalling and total loss of power...sucks but you can limp it home...an f-body does handle well but with new technology and a better driver it is what it is. I had an 05 Legacy GT Spec B that i did a bunch of crap to but when the x and i split up she took that and i took the jeep...car handled very well, but it did have alot of oversteer when you are in the turns hard back end would slide out...
