not a SOUL listen to country where i'm at... NYC Met is def not for country listeners.
But when I head down to cape canaveral, the pop stations that would play ALT up here, have quite a few country songs mixed in with the rap and rock. its real interesting.
in fact, we dont have one single country radio station here...
and im not about to pay for satellite, lol.

btw, satellite is well worth the money the measly 13 bucks a month. in the grand scheme of htings, thats pennies. Under 50 cents a day to have tons of music choices and no commercials. It costs less than driving on the turnpike daily.

Red White and Blue
Free Bird
Simple Man
The Ballad of Curtis Lowe
And of course Sweet Home Alamaba.
Phil Vasser and Travis Tritt are also very good, check them out.
Also check out Cole Deggs and the Lonesome, they just came out with their new song "I've Got More", Jason Aldean - "Johnny Cash", Montgomery Gentry - "Lucky Man", Trace Adkins "I Wanna Feel Somethin", and Whiskey Falls - "Last Train Running.
And if you don't have the song "Hillbilly Deluxe", by Brooks and Dunn, d/l it as soon as possible, because its definitely one of the best songs ever written 8-)

I was a typical suburban Jersey metalhead throughout my teen years and into my early 20s. Then I met a girl who turned me country. She's long gone, but still love the music (Sounds like a song title; I should write it down). I still like to pop in a Metallica or Life of Agony CD now and again when I need a shot of adrenaline, but for the most part, my favorites are: Toby Keith (In your face redneck songs), Brooks and Dunn (Honky Tonk all the way), Montgomery Gentry (In your face redneck AND honky tonkin', especialy the "My Town" album), Kenny Chesney (The chicks dig 'em and some of the lyrics are pretty deep) and any female with an honestly powerful voice. Sara Evans tops the list there. Oh, and lately, I've gotten into Hank Williams III. He's the grandson of the late and original Hank. For you metalheads, he does two shows a night: One with his country band ("This Damn Band") and a second with his metal band ("Assjack").
