Hey fellas
I am going to be or would like to install Lt's on my lt1 pretty soon. Is there anyone out there that would help? I dont exactly have all the tools or the best place to work. However, there will be money, beer and pizza (of course) provided? Looking for help from someone who has done this already. I would really apreciate the help and like i said you'll be taken care of :)
Let me know if anyone wants to help
Thanks
Lou

I did a set of LTs on a 94 TA back in the 90s, so I'd be more then happy to share what ever I remember. First word of advice I'd give you is to start spraying down the stock manifold bolts n' Y-pipe bolts with P B Blaster a few days before you plan on doing the installation. Then there are 2 schools you can follow to get the headers in: put them in from the bottom, or drop the engine and k frame down to put them in.
PS: Where abouts in Hillsboro are you? I live in Somerset, and we have a few guys in Hillsboro n' Piscataway who are pretty good w/ a wrench.

Let us know when you plan on doing it and I can give a hand if I'm available. Definitely spray down those manifold/y-pipe bolts and any other I-pipe bolts that might need to be taken off. I would advise getting new motor mounts as well, they're much easier to install with the exhaust out of the way. But plan on a couple of hours for the motor mounts alone since you need to drill out some serious rivets to remove the rubber mounts. Did you get some real O2 extensions that have the plugs on each end? Also get some decent header gaskets.

As I'm sure you've heard, its quite a fun job. Def do what the other guys said concerning the pb blaster on the bolts. As for assistance, I am willing to offer assistance if I my schedule allows. When I installed mine, I unbolted the engine from the mounts and jacked it up a bit to let them fall where they needed. I think a few experienced guys, the right tools, a few too many beers and it will be done no problem. Do you have 02 extensions and y-pipe and all that?

I remember your ride from rutgers in NB...nice ride and very clean.
