another pretty good night for randy in the sportsman car. everyone gets the short version this week. :)
car was good in the heat race, randy pulled a pretty good lead on second place and then started trying a few things to see where there may or may not be bite for later in the evening, found out that what he tried was !traction, got passed and finished the heat race in second.
came out in the feature, car was good, not great. ran with the fastest guys all night, stayed in the top 5 the whole time and brought it home 3rd.
it was good to hear the track announcers talking about last week being the first time all year randy had finished outside the top 10 and then having everyone giving us pats on the back for getting to the front again. we are jsut a little tweaking on the set up and maybe a few small parts away from contending for the win, but i don't think it is far away.
the new dizzy also seems to have solved the engine problems from last week. never knew a stock ac delco HEI coudl keep up with firing to 7000 rpm like that. lol
NEXT RACE IS TUESDAY NIGHT!!! GATES ARE 5PM, RACING STARTS AT 7PM. it is a special race, the george wingate memorial. longer features, more prize money, and al the ig guns from all over del, pa, lower ny, and new jersey will be there. usualy makes for very interesting racing.
