Hey guys

Let me start out by saying I work in the "WB", aka the Washington Borough in NJ. I don't know how many of you guys know where this is or have been there, but this place is known for having more "Tyte cars and Type R's" per square mile than just about anywhere else in the world. In other words, its a town full of Honda kids that think they are fast.

So I show up to check my schedule, and I'm not surprised to see a bunch of Honda kids standing out front. I walk over because my buddy was talking to one of them, and the **** talking starts immediately. "Oh look here's the kid with the Trans Am, ect". I'm used to it so I just usually laugh and mumble to myself how much I hate these kids. Anyhow, the one kid starts taking **** about how my car "isn't s*** against a motor swapped Honda", so I pretty much told him Hondas suck - they are ugly, sound like ****, and their motors are gutless. He immediately takes this as a challenge to race, and starts calling all his gay Honda friends to come down, and of course they are chilling at the local Dunkin Donuts and Quick Check (where else ), so they show up immediately.

He claims they have a stock bodied, stock interior Honda Civic hatch (bubble as they call them) with a K20 "type r" that will "destroy" my car by buslenghts, my mods are in sig. Apparently it belonged to one of their friends that died, so now "its everyones car". He claims it has 268WHP and "beat a Fararri f50 (:rolleyes:). Then this other Honda fag also showed up with a "B16 turbo" who claims he will destroy me. At this point I pretty much say "whatever I don't give a f***", because I'm tired of listening to B16 this and K20 that, I hate Hondas.

My friend rolls his eyes and says "lets see what would happen if the T/A was as modded as your Civic or had anything close to as much money in it, such as H/C package or Procharger", and these kids STILL claim this K20 Civic would lay waste to it. I asked them in plain english if they thought a H/C 500WHP F-body with a 4K stall and a 4L80 with a 12 bolt could beat this hatch. Their exact words "it would need a rocket strapped to it" :rolleyes:

My question is how many of you guys have raced a Honda with a "K20" or "K20r" swapped into it?? Any idea what the outcome would be?? I mean obviously he has a huge weight advantage over me (~1000lbs), but do those motors run as well as their numbers suggest?? Seems to me I've read all too many hyped-up kill stories where some boosted H22 or K series in a hatch lays down money and still gets their ass kicked by a bolt on LS1, even though the stats suggest otherwise.

And finally, if any of you guys are in the area, give me a hollar, especially if you got some good mods. These kids could use a nice reality check, nothing that can't be settled over at Island 8-)

Race them. unless one of those cars is seriously stripped down, well built, and has wrinkle wall slicks on the front, I would not worry about it. I cant even count how many times I have been into a pack of ricers talking **** and when it comes down to it, they all have slow cars and cant drive. Most likely your dealing with a couple of 14 second cars that "feel Fast" compared to mommy's mini van. The thing is however, even if one of those cars is fast, it is still just a pos honda.

These guys obviously think their swap motor imports are untouchable. More times than not, there are tons of claims backed up by absolutely nothing. Occasionally you will run into a truly impressive import that will perform but its still few and far between in my opinion.

It gets worse in the honda crowd because they seem to all fuel their own made up hp numbers and stories. For all you know, the guy claiming 268whp could have just beaten a car that was supposedly making 250whp (as quoted by that owner) but in fact...neither is making anything withing 50hp of that number. This is just for "an instance" but you see where I'm going with it. I would run one of their cars from a stop and a roll if you want. You do not have a slow by any means so see how it stacks up.

Back when I was only with a filter/exhaust this kid with a modded crx "shifting at 10k" would talk all kinds of crap and spout its times and what not. When we finally lined up, I left him 6 cars back to 110...suffice to say he had nothing to say and his buddy told me he was giving it all it had. Then again I ran into some well built and non-riced out hondas on rt 1 in my dads 00 vette. We never got a clean run but it would have been neck and neck if not with him pulling a bit on that car.

i ran high 12s with just a lid and a catback, and mid 12s with his mods on street tires. i think he will do fine, as long as they dont have 2 big bottles of naaawwwzzz hooked up to their cars

Thats exactly how I see it. There is no way a 2400lb FWD car is going to be able to put down 268WHP to the road, its just not happening. Traction is not on their side.

The one kid is actually one of my co-workers (he's a moron btw, has a 92 hatch with swap, ran a 17.9 at best :gay: ) and he claims the said "k20 type r" in the non-gutted hatch ran an 11.3 on street tires. Really...is that why I see 90% of the motor swapped Hondas running 14's??

And the few that actually do make it into the low 13's, high 12's usually have between $10,000 and $20,000 invested in the motor alone.

I also think its absolutely pathetic that every Honda short of the S2K and NSX needs and engine swap to be fast. Thats just plain embarassing, IMO.

I hope run better than high 12's, bone stock the car runs low 13's. My major mods are the Z06 (LS6) intake, 4.10 gears, and Long Tube headers with true dual exhaust with an H pipe, 3" stepped down to 2.5" over the axle with straight through, zero restriction Magnaflow mufflers. I'll be getting it tuned as soon as I have a chance as well. I'm hoping for somewhere around 12.7 when all is said and done.

You've definitely got a good shot at 12.7 with those mods. My auto with a lid, LS6 intake, L/T headers, high flow cats, flowmaster, pulley, 3.73s, and a cut-out went 12.54....12.48 on DRs

This sounds like the audi s4 that I raced last week where some guy kept talkin s*** sayin that he would roll me in the s4. when we went to race i found out that the guy talkin s*** did not even own a car. he was just a passenger. I then raced him 3 times putting several cars on him each race. His s*** talkin stopped immediately:mrgreen:

Yeah OK and I've got an 18" e-wang,make 300k a year and own a Summer home in San Tropez. Ask the ricer for time slip or a dyno sheet. They never have either but will swear to those #'s. Hondas ain't $#it. The only import that ever gave me a run for my money was a 2006 Lancer Evo 8. Turbo 6-500 lbs less. Otherwise don't worry about it. Honda.....small car, small dic*

listen, I got to deal wiht these guys everyday a work. all the mexicans at my work have an exhaust, or should I say a muffler or rims, and they all peel out thinking their fast. I understand its their intrest, as well as american cars are ours, I respect that, but when you start to talk s#1t and call on all these people, that is when my respect is lost for oyu. I have a guy at work wiht an 86 corolla ( AE86 as their called in Japan) with a 4AGE in it. I love those cars to be honest, I know a little info on those engines and help him in any way for him to get a few extra ponies out of it, but someone wiht a prelude and Vtec stickers all over and hes on my ass cause he wants to run, then your gonna get your feelings hurt. Im more then confident youll be able to run about 99% of those guys and not have a problem beating them, but I will say, if your gonna do it, do it at a track not on the street. 1 if they bring it to the track that means they were ready to race, so there shouldn't be any excuses. 2 they do it infront of peopel so there are eyewitnesses of them gettign beaten. 3 you get the slip to prove what they can do and you will be able to let them know from there on out. 4 its a lot damn safer then the road.

exactly, thus why you dont see juans ride down the road at the H.I.M. conventions when it comes around here. some do make sleepers, some make them look fantastic and dont race, some have plenty to blow and make them as fast as they look, but then theres the majority of the population, with a mcdonalds budget for their car, and make no power gains to their car, they jsut add things to it from teh local autoparts store, but still peel out everywhere, and talk s#1t. I do love one thing, adn im sure anybody who has hada quick race ( and I do mean quick lol) and then gotten the ricer flyby? thats the ultimate ricer sign.

I have seen only a handful of cars that look like what i described above (and one of them WAS a Honda), and they would butt-***** you WITHOUT the courtesy of using lube or a "reach-around". HOWEVER the owners were subtle, they didn't talk ***** or brag or anything. The ones that do are full of *****, it is the subtle guy standing next to his POS "looking" car at a race that you need to watch out for...the dudes with the "Pep-boys Special" tuned cars that talk *****, just punch that b*tch in the lip. lol

I had a "kid" talking trash to me at a Wawa gas station because my vette was an auto. I politely explained to him that I have physical problems plus I furthered those problems by playing hockey when I shouldn't have. I asked him what he had and he said he had an Eclipse than ran 9.80's. I told him that sounds impressive. Then, I played the game by asking him his mods, if he has a cage in it etc. Of course it's a twin turbo(right) and he has no cage but has never gotten kicked off the track. I told him he was full of ****(after he was done pumping my gas of course) and asked him to run me, I mean after all my car is only a high 12 second car....

Ironically his car was "broke" and he can't drive it :rolleyes:

A little while ago at "the ave" here in vineland, (all these guys with "hot cars" congregate there, 80% are crappy imports, theres a few nice domestics, namely f-bodies, and a few trucks there) this guy in a civic was talking smack to this guy with an LS1 TA, the guy with the TA gladly raced him. So we all followed these guys out to the industrial park so they could race, the guy in the civic was like "give me one car length thats all I need", the guy in the TA agreed and what was funny was he actually gave him about 2-4 car lengths and still kicked the crap out of him. Once we got back I went to go talk to the guy in the TA, I was like "it wasnt even a challenge for you was it?" and he was like "no not at all". We couldnt see the race because the road has no street lights on it so all we could see was tail lights.

About a week ago I was coming back from the other side of town and one of the main drags in town (chestnut ave.) its two lanes and i saw this sedan (dont remember what it was, probably a toyota or a honda) with a big wing on it, I just wanted to get along side and laugh at him. So I did and accelerated surprisingly enough he kept up with me, I was suprised to say the least. Some are fast and look like rice but 90% of them look like rice and are rice.

When i first got my other firebird this two guys that my friends are friends with always wanted to street race me. The one guy blew up 3 civics within a year and the other on always talked trash but whenever I presented him with the option of going to atco he would always back down saying "oh I have my girlfriend with me" or something stupid like that, then he would go back to huffing nitrous out of the tank that was supposed to be hooked up to his car. Now he gets arrested left and right for cocaine possession :lol:

Not to mention they're behavioral patterns of traveling in packs and starting skirmishes with larger species, also known to travel in packs, but only for recreation. Well a great reason why we have ricer posts like these. Last night on the way back from the north meet, I encountered several imports that tried to egg me on. First, near th Oranges, a guy in what looks like the early 80's RX-7 went across 4 lanes of traffic becuase he was racing his friend in a 240SX. When they passed me I laid on my horn to let them know that was f****d up. The guy in the RX-7 heard me and slowed down right next to me and was weaving in and out of traffic trying to stay next to me. finally i slowed down and got behind him until we got to the verazzano bridge and where the parkway split into two sides he went t othe other one. Then near the Barnaget toll plaza, what appeared to be a kid still or just out of highschool wiht this mop of a hair cut i an Evo come right beside me and then takes off, but idk if he f***ed up on the shifting or hes looking to savor his shifts, granny shifted it. We get to the toll plaza, I got EZ-pass, so i blow right thru, and then 1 minute later be blows by again, then slows down. So I get right up next to him, turn my interior lights on so he can see me, and I proceeded to give him hat he thought was going to be a thumbs up, was quickly turned to a thumbs down, at which point his girlfriend or whatever is peering thru the window all pissed, and then he drops it in neutral, revs so the blow off sounds, and then takes off like and idiot. if anybody has seen this around the LBI area, its a two tone evo. Black wihta silver upper half and has some gaudy rims on it. its times like these I had two more cylinders.

Bonzo have you not read up on group dress? It is a powerful force and works as great intimidation, plus have you ever heard a group of 10 or 15 cars with the exact same song playing at the exact same time when it's not on the radio. It was a mad scientist idea i had thinking about the even as if it were a scene in a movie or something that's all. Still I think if we showed up about 15 strong or so how would that look to them if we were all uniform? I think I came accross that same evo in that same area a month ago. Sitting in traffic the Jacka$$ kept pulling next to me spooling his turbo so I can hear his waste gate. This went on for 10 min before traffic started flowing again. On the roll I just blew his stupid doors off down the bus lane lol. Maybe he was looking for some payback this time on you lol. It was a black evo what looked like a white3 or silver top paint, and stupid looking rims.

i ran my camaro at etown n/t and there was a red bubble racing me....also no time.... the thing cranked out a 10.17.... then i played with him on the highway all the way up the tpike.... hes even faster from a roll... he got off after 16w.... i wrote down his plate number and was like ill never race this dude lol so there are a few that can move....

There is two imports that I give respect too, and thats that Toyota, Supra, and the VR4 Mitsu 3000 GT. I have a couple of buddies who have them each putting out 600 ponies, and 10s on the track are common place for them. I also have a buddy who is a ricer in elizabeth nj who has a crappy looking black Honda civic, but can also hit 10s and might hit high 9s by the end of this summer. But he is cool about it and doesnt do the stupid crap that most of these kids do with there ricers.
