So, my wife is gone all weekend, leaving me with our 2 sons (6 and 3 years old). What to do all day? Well, we all jump in the 77 and go cruising. Back roads from here to Belmar to see my parents, with a BK Lounge stop on the way (damn, no bumblebee toy yet). Then a run down to the beach, where we stop in Avon and the kids play in the sand for 45 minutes while I lounge and 'take in the sights'.

Then some more beach cruising, where we saw 2 Ferraris, an NSX, some crazy supercar-looking Porsche I am not familiar with, a 68 Camaro, an early C3 BBC Vette, a pimped out Supra blowing enough oil out its fart can to kill all area mosquitos, and a Nextel Cup style late model Monte Carlo that sounded awesome, done up as the #8 car. It caught me off guard, so I didn’t get a very good look, but I swore I saw a full cage and a front license plate. LOL. The engine tone was crazy good, I need a better exhaust and more cam. All this between Avon and Spring Lake. Then more back roads home, with a Carvel stop in Freehold.

Overall a nice car cruising day with the kids. Car ran good, perfect weather, and the kids had fun. The way it is supposed to be. Even got a couple of nice comments about the car.

Tomorrow, Rush at the PNC. 95* and beer. No kids. Woo-hoo!

Had to run out to western PA to pick up the family from their trip to grandmas house. Passing by carlisle, PA I saw a MOPAR show at the fair grounds just after hopping on the turbpike. The short amount of time I was on route 11, I must have passed at least a few million dollars worth of 'Cuda, Charger and Challenger. Ran alongside a Roadrunner for a short time which looked and sounded awesome. The redneck and his woman in the car weren't so hot.

Heading west, away from the fairgrounds, I passed two trailered Challengers, both in restorable conditions. Must have been recent acquisitions, as one had a grease pencil marking all over it, declaring it an 80k original mile car. I have no idea what the year was as Im not a MOPAR guy.

Some nice four wheeled eye candy (as opposed to the two legged kind) for the trip out west.

I took the Monte out with my 4-year old last night, trying to get to the huge Whiskey Cafe Cruise Night. Well, the first clue that I should've turned around and went home was that the road I needed to cross to get onto Rt 17 was closed with a detour, and the police decided further instructions were not necessary so I wound up in the railyard. Well, we finally made it down to Lyndhurst, only to find out that there was some crap going on at Giants Stadium so the lot was packed with idiots, and the club that runs the show at Whiskey had no one at the gate to let cars in. So, we had to go back and forth between these two jabronie traffic directors; one guy told us to go up to the next entrance, and that asshat told us to go back to the first, and no one let us in anywhere. I finally cut into a side entrance that wasn't blocked off by some knucklehead traffic director, but had to park away from the show cars. Bah.

My son did put it into perspective though. When we finally parked, he could tell I was ticked off, and he just said to me, "Well, at least we're here daddy." What a good kid!
