1056 miles from my house to the entrance of memphis motorsports park according to google maps. they also say it is a 16.5 hour drive, but i am sure we could knock a few hours off of that.

easily.rt81 is a pretty nicely paved road all the way. as long as we plan ahead a little not to hit areas like hagerstown maryland at rush hour it should be easy to make good time. the mapping program is always based on the speed limit, and anyone who has driven rt81 before will tell you that only going 65-70mph will keep you firmly in the slow lane. lol

you do realize its a lsx based event, better go see if they have a class you will fit in as it dosent seem like they will have timeshot or grudge lanes open that weekend

the true street challenge seems to be a wide open thing. at least the rules mention 4 and 6 cyl powered as well as drive conversion vehicles. so it better be an open class. lol
mike and kasey, since you guys seem to be interested in teh event and record chasing, let me know when is a good time to get to work on the cars. i can have one car at my house for weight work at a time.

I did the trip from memphis to My house in edison. I did it in 12.5 hrs. Thats a days work for me. I wasnt going to crazy I averaged about 75-80 the whole time.

i am thinking it will take somewhere in the 15 hour range. we are setting up a convoy and a good number of people will be towing, so they can't go as fast. we are also planning to arrange meet up points with others convoys to cruise into memphis together, so that means a few longer stops than just the gas and go i woudl do if it was a one car deal.
shoudl be an easy drive, pa turnpike to rt81 to rt40 and from what i understand the track is just off of the highway. should be easy enough.

ok kids, who's really interested?
i jsut got a message from one of the guys from teh NMCA that is helping LS1Tech put this deal together and he is happy to hear there will be a group coming from teh northeast. further more he said that as long as we can put together the guest list and get down there by 6pm on thursday we will all get seats, food, and all the freebies that are a part of the LS1Tech.com party in memphis :D
i am definately going, who's with me?

the 94 should 100% be on the road by then so Yea If I can arrange it with work I will go. Be a good opportunity to really put some miles on the car

I will be there and will likely join in the Northeast caravan.

While ls1tech is maintaining a projected attendance list it is really a GM/NMCA/GM High Tech event. If you look at this months GM High Tech and last months, you will see lots of info on the event on NMCA page

it is a pretty cool event. like redgar said, it is really the GM LSx shootout that is going on in conjunction with the NMCA Finals going on that weekend.
so you get all the LSx classes, all the regular NMCA classes, and a pretty big car show with both regular NMCA prizes and some special awards for the LS powered vehicles.
i am definately going, hotel reservations are made and the travel route is being planned :)

do they still have the north vs. south meets?

NJSPEEDER
08-03-2007, 02:16 PM
not really. i think some guys did put one together but it wasn't the big production that they put on when ls1tech was trying to get the series going.

I wish i could but at this time i dont have the money for all the traveling

REDGAR

I could be an expensive trip but with some planning you can minimize cost. Maybe room share, bring snacks to avoid eating out all the time. Find a buddy to ride with you who can share some of the fuel costs
