Color change

Does anyone know the rules for changing the car color in jersey...? can i go to dmv and just do the registration or do i actually need the title? any one who knows these steps it would be greatly appreciated.... thanks

i belive you may need the title. i will assume the car still has a lein and thats why you dont have possesion of the title.

if you had the title, you just go in when you reregister it and on the form you put the new color. My ex did it with the monte i built. white to black. at first the DMV gave her a ton of crap about how she needed a receipt from a body shop, etc. so she came back home. I kinda yelled at her because i told her she needed nothing and i had looked into it and the DMV person didnt know anything. 2 days later she went back and tried again and qouted the website, and got it changed without any issues.
i tried finding the website again but i cant and that was almost 2 years ago. what i did find is that any title changes can be done at local MVC locations and cost $20.

You can TRY to change the color on just the registration renewel form even if you dont have the title, it may work but i'm not sure.

went to dmv... changed the regiustration to black for me in a matter of seconds for 5 bucks... anyone who was wondering....
