I was thinking about changing jobs and going to school to work on cars. mostly just repairs or adding performance to them. Is anybody already in this field?
I have car knowledge and a little hands on. I was jsut wondering what the best way to go about this. I planning on saving up enough to live on while going to school. How much is the starting pay around?

You can either can the degree where you have to take math, english ect.... Or you can just get a certificate where you only have to take autoclasses. The program im in cost about 7k. Great place i def learned alot. So if your interested check out your options there.

i was a auto tech but my old boss kinda ruined it for me and made me hated working on cars. plus the parts ppl up here are dumber then a retarded baby. i went for a comm. college and a tech skool for automotive and now im a trash man. theres only like 3 kids outta 15 from my tech skool class still in the trade. i first started at 15 making 8an hour to disassemble engines so they can be clean and worked to support 400hp and up(bigalstoybox.com) then went to my last job and started making 10$ an hour and left making 12$. its now what u get paid, its comes down to flate rate. thats how u make the money
I'm a chrysler tech. starting pay is pretty sucky, but if you stick with it you can make some serious bank!

I worked at a dealer for 5 years and its a hard way to make a living. Imo you really dont want to do it for a living. When you start to get older you will see but there are some people that no matter what love doing it. Id rather do it for a hobby than a living. Thats why I changed jobs.
