Well without more details on the drivetrain setup, no one can really give you an answer. You can give a cam with that amount of duration very different characteristics by changing the LSA and lift.

I wouldn't want a previously modded LSx car as a daily driver though....god only knows what it's been through, and you'll need something reliable. IMHO, stick with something sturdy and cheap for a first beater.

mike, what do you think I should offer?

Mike

i honestly wouldnt pay more than 10k.....my reasoning:

you can find a stock one with that mileage for 8.5-10k and then those mods probably cost between 3-5k and that would get you to just under their asking price in a car that you knew wasnt beaten to piss before you bought it.

someone put that much money into a car would part it out or sell it outright if they had time......i cant picture a trade in unless it was about to break in some way and they needed to unload it asap

that car should have a light gray interior.........not black/light gray/tan

Help me find a stock one for that price in nj, you would be my hero. Then i wouldnt need to pay more then 200 a month on a 60 month loan 8-)

is it bad that Id be paying my own loan at 16?

I think it's a bad thing that you are considering buying something nice enough to require a loan at 16.

Heh heh, mines for sale :). That cam should be fine on an M6'especially with 4.11's, as long as it doesn't have stupid amounts of lift and like a 110LSA. Personally I wouldn't buy it. I would go out and get like a 98 or 99 car for around $7-8,000 and then just drive it. If you are hell bent on something like that as an everyday car I would look more for something with a cam more around TR's 224/224 cam on a 114LSA. Hind sight being 20/20 I wish I'd left mine cam only.

Im not going to get it, I dont want a car that was beaten, and I dont want a car that has unknown things done to it, which is why im not going to get that 01 z28 either.. im just gonna wait it out and my dream trans am will fall on my lap.

is it bad that Id be paying my own loan at 16? :cry:Yes, it is extremely bad, IMO. Plus you can’t get a loan, so someone, most likely your Mom, would have to co-sign, putting them and their credit rating on the hook if you screw up the payments. Plus you'd have to carry full insurance (comp & collision) on a car with a loan. That would likely double your insurance bill. You are too young to try to keep up with people with actual incomes. Don’t try.

Finish your 3rd gen and enjoy learning and growing up.

BTW, 4th gen prices will drop as we get closer to 5th gens. Save your pennies, better deals are ahead.

Hey a car with a loan requires compete insurance package even though you wont be driving it -- no one is going to give you a 60 month loan on a 10k car forget it and the insurance might be 2 / 3 hundred a month have you thought of that -- buy a junker to start with 2 months before you get a permit that is the only thing that make any sence --jz
