time to fess up. do you own an import? i mean, a car that the head company is based overseas, like BMW, mercedes, honduh, hyundai, kia.

there will be no bashing in this thread, and if there is, i expect one of the moderators to drop the axe on the post (not the thread). so free feel to come clean and tell us your darkest, innermost secrets. you don't have to justify your ownership, either. we all know you went import because there are no american cars that can come close, or the gas mileage, or the mechanical quality, or whatever. it doesn't matter.

I own a Hyundai. It's lasted me 112k miles with only basic maintainence until I met my husband, who has not done a lot more of the good stuff on it.

We also lease Mercedes yearly. But that's because we can. And because they are awesome cars. DOn't care what anyone says, I'll take my Benz over any American car anyday. :)

Nope, I don't own one. But my '69 shares a bay with a 930 turbo slant. Any car that had a history of being such a widowmaker that it was pulled from the market for a redesign is OK with me.

Not currently, just Camaros here. I have owned Toyota trucks in the past mainly because they were used, cheap and I know how to work on them. I prefer GM vehicles myself. Picking a daily driver is not easy and there are certain needs people have which lead them to a specific vehicle.

i've had possession of certain imports, but they were never really mine as i never swapped the title into my name. back in the high school years, i cleaned a woman's yard for her and she gave me two datsuns. one was a b-210 and i can't remember the name of the other. i was told to "get that s**t out from in front of my house" by pappy. now i understand what he meant, although at the time, i figured it was just another of his rants.

during the college years, i had a VW bug for a few weeks.

while i sold cars, i drove the helloutta a mitsudouche diamond for a while, until i switched over to the used car side. then i was allowed to drive whatever came in until the car sold or one of my superiors wanted it. that's how i met and fell in love with the ZR-1.

currently, the grarage consists of the wife's liberty, and my f-bodies. neither of her sons drives american; one drives an accord and the other a top of the line acura. well, the acura died of neglect so we had someone give us $50 for it. better that than it being a lawn ornament for a coupla more years.

All American cars for me and my entire family. I don't foresee that will change save a 240z, Triumph, or Karmann Ghia project car.

I own the 3 camaros and the jeep cherokee in my sig.. I wouldnt be opposed to owning an import, purely due to fuel mileage and affordability, but since my commute to work is a whopping 10 miles currently, I don't need to worry about it.

My family has always been a predominantly Chevy based family. Only recently we started to move to European/Japanese import cars.

Family cars: (currently own)
- 198? VW Fox (moms)
- 198? Chevy Celebrity Wagon (dads)
- 199x Chevy Lumina (dads)
- 199x Chevy Lumina (dads)
- 1998 Chevy Lumina (Best car ever! Shared with my mom)
- 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix (dads)
- 2001 VW Passat (moms)
- 2003 Acura TSX (dads)
- 1985 Trans Am (my old car)
- 2001 VW Jetta (sister & moms car)
- 1995 Chevy Z28 (Current)
- 2001 Chevy S10 (My daily driver)
- 2007 Nissan Pathfinder (dads)

I've owned GM my entire driving life but never hated on the imports. I had a 1985 Trans Am, my 1995 Z28, and now my 2001 S10 that is practically indestructible!

Back in my college years, I owned a '91 Honda Accord as my commuter car. I put 40K miles on that thing in two years, beat the death out of it, and hardly spent any $$ on it. However, we've driven GMs and Jeeps mostly. My mom currently has a '99 Grand Cherokee, I have a '01 Cherokee Sport, and my wife has an '03 Liberty Limited. From the time I was born in '73, my parents have only had two imports - my mom drove a '72 Beetle until my dad bought a new Camaro in '85, and two years ago my dad bought an '05 Audi A4. The A4 has been good to him, and it's great in the crap weather.

bubba428

I have never...and will never, own an Import. heres my list

87 Pontiac Bonneville(dead)
94 Chevy Camaro V6
85 Chevy C10 350 (dead)
91 Dodge Dynasty(dead)
86 T/A carbed 350 swap(soon to have a T-5)
88 Buick LeSabre 3.8(almost dead)

I bought the Camaro and T/A for $800 and the truck for $600. the Dynasty was given to me to get running cause my aunt killed it. I drove it for awile then the trans on the truck went now the trans on that went so I'm loaning the LeSabre and waiting on the T/A...and thats in the 2 years I've had my license

My current DD is a 2005 Toyota Camry. It's the first import that I've bought for myself, and it isn't a bad car. I would have preferred the Pontiac Grand Prix but the hood over the instrument panel made it impossible for my wife so see over. :P

The wife drives a Toyota Sienna.

My 1988 Trans Am is the fourth F-body I've owned.

hahahaa, classic! never heard that one before.

my gf just picked up a 2003 "mustbesushi" galant, but i myself have never been guilty of owning anything worse than a 1987 F**d F150. all jokes aside, the thing was absolutely bulletproof. I abused that thing in despictable ways, and it still ran to 265000, sold it running strong for a grand.

other cars:
1964 Olds Cutlass F85 ragtop
1977 Corvette
1989 Camaro RS
1995 Suburan
1995 BMW 525i

I learned of the term "mustbesushi" from Justin, your trusty Admin. I even have a homemade bumper sticker with the Mitsubishi font type and the logo transformed into a funny... well, I'll just have to take a picture of it and post it. You'll all roll over laughing when you see it.

Yes they are slow but, they are one hell of a wheelie machine. As for an import; no imported cars or trucks but, 2 honda motorcycles.

I had a Mistu for my first car, it lasted a week.

And my mother owned a 96 Camry, until I got my liscense and it met the guard rail.

Other than those 2, my whole family has always had american cars.

Currently driving 01 GTP and have an 86 MC SS
Everyone but my sister is driving GM products, she has a neon.

before i bought my firebird, i had an 89 nissan stanza. i say one thing about those cars, they last forever. all the previous owners (my brother and his friends) all beat the hell out of it and so did i (it was my first car) and the only things that were really wrong with it was the starter died one day, the cat rusted off (hey the car was old) and it leaked power stearing fluid. other then that it was great, i forgot to check the oil in it one time and drove it from vineland high, then to CCTEC out in bridgeton/deerfield and back again, and the car still ran fine

a car can run fine even if you forget to check the oil
