I just got my install kit from Bowtie Overdrives for the 2004R, so I'll be laying on cardboard.

I'm about 2 weekends away from roadworthy!

Maybe next time.

I think Bob goes every Friday.

I pass through there on my way home so could stop by for a few mins.

OK, plan change. I'm out. I finished painting my kid's room, then put the Z back together (it was aprt for the dent guy) & took it for a ride. Damn thing sounded like something was rattling off. It seems the pinhole in the RH muffler grew a whole bunch, into a series of much larger holes. It was getting louder as I drove. So it is shelved until I can figure out plan B. I'm gonna see if I can throw some crappy muffler wrap stuff on it for the time being. Total rig!

Nuts, I thought I'd be able to finish cruise season. Now I may be out until spring.

Ahh I can fix that for you if you have some sheet laying around.

Once that melts and rehardens it should fix any size holes you may have

I have a pair of glass packs you can have. No sneaking up on anyone with those, though.

I'm going to see what I can do with it tonight. Dammit. Advance has some dynomax super turbos on the shelf that might work in a pinch. Or maybe some duct tape.

or just straight pipe where the mufflers used to be.

bad64chevelle

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot I'm not cool enough to hang out with you! Do those 2nd gen Fbodies have a big enough trunk to fit your walker into, or do you just lay the cane in the back seat? :moon:

I think I have a spare 2-1/2" super turbo muffler sitting in the shed. I used it for less than a year so it should be in good condition. It's in the shed right next to my

Add Billy K to the mix too. LOL. You'll be right there with us, you young whipper snapper. Who else you gonna hang with, the guys from the north? :moon:

Exhaust is DOA. I thought the tailpipes wre clamped to the muffler, but just the hanger is. Both mufflers are split open. And show signs of contact. LOL.

Anyone know if Mufflex is open on Saturdays?

See those stupid mufflers?

Mufflex wants ~$750. I figure getting a Pypes setup is about $400 plus either labor or lots of time under the car. 2.5" with x-pipe. Damn it, not ready for decision making.

I got a pair of the Pypes headpipes, Summit turbo mufflers and some Ebay tailpipes for the 70 for under $250 and that's all 3" stuff. You could probably put something together for closer to $200 if you shop around and watch Ebay.

some of us dont make enough money to fast-track our projects :(

just have mufflex do it and be done with it. by the way, what mufflers are you gonna run? if you're undecided I'd say take a look at spintech.

Mufflex says he has magnaflows and flowmasters on the shelf - I'd go MF of those 2. But I might go Dynomax Ultra Flows. Or if I use Pypes, race pros.

Stop spending my money! LOL I got another car to build.

Ian

yeah out of those choices, I opt for the magnaflows too.
