Deal (http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/08/acer_gateway.html) creates a new No. 3 in the U.S. computer market...

They should just nuke Emachines and Gateway. Seems like their parts are made from recycled budweiser cans and used orthadontic braces

Back in the day, Acer stuff was kind of junky, but I haven't bought any of their stuff in 6 or so years. Is it better now? I'm sure gateway and emachines are still the lower class machines they always were.

My acer desktop is ok, If I could've bought something else I would.

Eh, they are basically appliances now anyway. Like a washer or dryer.
