They are new announcements. Once you read them they will go away from the list.

looking around i don't see any way to adjust that in the software. i will ask justin to take a look, but i don't think there is a way to change it.

No, announcements, stickies, and posts will all be displayed when you use the "new posts" feature to read the board. There is no way around that.

You asked for the software to show you everything that was new, so it did.....

but was the announcement necessary in every part of the board is the real question

Seems that several people have noticed it, no?

Sounds like it did what it was supposed to do.

And it wasn't in every part of the board....we didn't put it up in the Events section.

Thing is, a lot of people never go near the lounge. It isn't their thing, so to speak. So we wanted to spread the word about our events better.

But lounge and classifieds get the most traffic by far, with classifieds being a distant second.

They are just annoying there, and i dont wanna waste my click

who is most likely to go to a gathering? those that participate in the lounge. no need to have it everywhere else

it is something we are doing to raise awareness of club meets. so far it seems to be working well as indicated by the number of views of the main thread getting a nice jump in the last few days since the global announcement started.
