I dont know how many old school gamers are on this board so lets find out. People have always taken sides to whose franchise is better and though i love both im gonna side with mario.

Mario to me is the original and still the best. Nintendo had a stranglehold on the video game industry in the 80s. However if you are talking 16 bit systems then Sonic all the way. I think the Genesis was way better than the SNES.

i agree that genisis was a better system but nes and snes had way better selection of games IMO........and we both know who won that battle...thats why sega games are now on nintendo platforms

Meh. IMO Genesis had the better selection of games, they just screwed the pooch with all of the Sega CD/32x/Saturn stuff.

ya genesis was truly there last great system...everyones got there preference.....i guess im just a sucker for the mario,yoshi,kirby,starfox etc. etc. series:lol: still to this day i play super mario 3 for the nes....it only grows on me lol

another hard choice, i had to go with mario since i love super mario world. i could beat that game so many times and want to keep playing it. i felt the sonic games didnt have any replay value. although they did have sonic and knuckles which was a kick *** idea.

Sonic 4Life!! what do you think would beat who, a plumber or a really fast hedgehog, exactly. I think the best sonic tho was on Dreamcast, and speaking of which Dreamcast FTW, the underdog of 128bits. best gaems for it wer sonic adventures and airforce delta.

true...i love sonic but mario just kept changing things up and being fresh...sonic didnt untill all the semi-current consols starting comin out.

that is true but im more comparing the series and gameplay value.....but still you give mario fire flower and he'll show that blue sumbitch whats up:twisted:
