Hmmmm, I have no gripes about making the playoffs via wild card, but wouldn't it be snarky if the Yanks knocked the Smelly Sox outa first place? Shades of 77 all over again! Then, all we need is for A-Rod to make like Reggie in October...

i was reading in the paper today that the sox could mathematically miss the playoffs all together. there is only about a 1% chance of it happening, but it gave me a good laugh.
GO YANKS!!!

actually it was 1978 that the red sux blew a 14 game lead and lost in a 1 game playoff on bucky dents homer. in 1977 the orioles and red sux were each 2 1/2 games back of the yanks.

yeah, that is what the paper said. it is jsut a funny thought that a team coudl have 11.5 game lead at the all star break and not make the post season.
never thought i wouldhave a reason to cheer for the tiggers before. :)
